The brake light switch on your brake pedal may be bad. The owner's manual will have the location of the fuse box.

check your brake light switch on the pedal and the sockets for corrosion. Also check the wiring harness at the tail light assembly and check for 12 volts when pedal is depressed

I have a 2006 Nissan Maxima, and the car won't go out of park unless you activate the Shift lock bypass. When this happens the break inghts don't work. I checked the fuses and have replaced the break

I would check the brake switch & the shift solenoid, if that
applies, that releases the shifter

A wiring diagram is a must, unless your just testing the solenoid

Also there may be some adjustment for the shift linkage

Without the factory manuals & they are on a CD, your at a big
disadvantage, guessing at something you don't know about

Sure need but want to avoid the prices at a dealer

any half *** wiring job could do a number of things from no lights to no radio if its half *** then its not worth a hoot i would have the trailer brake removed unless you plan on using it then i would have a shop redo it trailer brakes when half *** installed can cause problems i prefer a whole *** job rather then a half *** job any day.

My 1998 Audi A4 2.8 L front high beams, low beams and fog lights all went off at the same time. I check the fuse and they seemed to be fine. When I checked the connection to the fuses, it had little if no...

It is probably a break in the wires. If they are getting little or no current, that is what it is. Hopefully, you can find the break. There is a chance it is the light switch circuit, but I would say a break in the line.

Battery fuse is missing and have to jump the car for it to start-soes this fuse have to be replaced for car to start.

Did car work before? Should NOT have any fuses missing, look for metal contacts in holes where fuses go, if has in each hole it gets a fuse.

My break ligths dont flash

Unless both bulb filaments went out, there is a switch that the brake pedal sits on when released. It should be located under the dash above your foot. You shouldn't miss it. When the brakes are applied, the switch pops out activating the lights, it sounds like that switch may be faulty. Hope that works

Rear tail / brake lights

I had the same problem. Check the fuse to the brake light switch (I'm pretty sure that's what it's called). Chances are, that's blown and causing the lack of taillights. As for the single light going out, me and my dad just fiddled with the electrical contacts on the bulb housing until we got it to work. Basically just bent them up a little bit so we were sure that when the bulb was installed, it definitly made contact with the metal tabs. Sorry I can't be more specific.

Electrical problems in 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse

Hi,

I had the same problem. It seems that multi purpose fuse (#13, 10A) blown out. And this fuse its part of the charging diagram system and also from meter gauges system. So I discovered that the speed sensor harness was the problem.

Try to look for it and replace it ( its under the big air filter hose).

Good luck

Malfunctioning brake lights.

Most likely a short in your break line. You might also check the brake switch, but I would think if the break switch was going, it you wouldn't even have the third lite working...
