What is the drive cycle for 2006 Nissan Maxima
It's not miles to be driven, but how many times the key is turned on and off, after the problem has been fixed. I don't know what the Nissan is, But the highest I have seen is 100 times. I have a code reader and scanner. Both turn them off, Like right now.

Does a 2006 Maxima 3.5 SL have a drain button for the gasoline
If it is a removable plug on the tank to let out all the fuel th short is no. You would have to manually remove the fuel from the tank by way of a pump. The only way to access it would be remove the rear seat and accss thee tank by way of the fuel pump. It' an all in one module. Pretty simple to remove but I recommend extreme caution while doing any thing with fuel. Its the vapors that are highly volatile. Proceed with caution

2006 Nissan Maxima.
You probably have a blown fuse(Altima calls it battery saver fuse) might be electrical parts fuse and the noise is probably a relay. Incase you did not check all the fuses in the driver side fuse box. If you find another bad fuse to change the fuse it may silence the relay. Relay and fan motor both on passenger side (Remove glove box and panel below it). I have seen some post about by passing the relay/solenoid. By the shifter you can pop a plastic piece out and put a key or screw driver in the hole and it will allow you to shift. You bypass the safety feature. Hope this can provide some help for you.
