I changed the oil yesterday afternoon then drove the car around. This morning went to the store and when I left the store and turned the car on after a few seconds there was a loud rattling to me it sounded like something was stuck in the catalytic converter didn't loose power. Drove for a few blocks and then the sound went away still no power loss and got home fine. Later I was going to leave and the car wont start. The engine wont crank all I hear is a humming/buzzing sound. I checked the oil and it was very low I lost about 3-4Quarts of oil. The drain plug and filter were dry and I didn't see any oil on the ground. Will my engine not start because oil is low or is there something more? If that's the case where did the oil go in the first place?
Oooooooo... I think that engine is GONE, Miguel... not even rebuildable, I think it's ruined.
The drain plug or oil filter may have been loose, allowing the oil to drip out, but since you didn't find any oil on the ground, that's doubtful. What's MORE likely is that you threw a rod (the rattling noise), and that rod broke a hole in the side of the crankcase and blew all your oil out the hole. If I'm right, that engine can't be salvaged... none of its internal parts are good for anything but scrap metal now.

first thing you got to do is determen weather its electrical or fuel problem, you can take a test light and hook to a ground and the light end to a spark plug and see if it lights while someone turns over engine, if it lights you got spark. if its got spark, on to fuel, take fuel pressure test, don't think because you can hear pump working does not mean it is, it can sound like it is but its not, at least putting out enought pressure, not the correct amount it will not run. pumps will go out just that way with no warning at all.

hi this could be due to your hydraulic tappets, these will start to rattle if the oil has been low at some stage and the oil was to thin this normally sounds worse in the mornings on first start and gets quieter as the day goes on or disappears altogether, what you could do, is use an engine flush, put it in the engine and run it for a period of time, then empty the oil and refill with a thicker grade oil and see how that goes..hope this helps

DOES YOUR CAR CRANKS OR IS COMPLETELY DEAD ONLY LIGHTS? IF IT CRANKS AND DOESN'T ENGINE RUN THEN IT IS EITHER THE ALARM ( IMMOBILIZER )SYSTEM ACTIVATED,OR THE IGNITION KEY FAILURE. IF YOU HAVE A SPARE IGNITION KEY TRY AGAIN ( THE KEY TO BE THE ONE WITH CHIP INSIDE ).IF IT IS COMPLETELY DEAD THEN YOU NEED THE ASSISTANCE OF A QUALIFIED PERSON TO DIS ACTIVATE THE ALARM AND CHECK ALSO YOUR SMART KEY AS WELL .
