Well code 125 means the engine is not getting hot enough for the emission system to go into closed loop. So you would check the thermostat first. If the engine is reaching normal operating temp of 195 degrees there could be a problem with one of the O2 sensors or the coolant temp sensor.

SOURCE: replaced bank 1 sensor 1 O2 sensor with an OE

Those lights indicate an issue with ABS or traction control systems. In order to properly diagnose the problem the vehicle's codes will need to be read with a scanner.

Generally speaking there is no danger in driving the vehicle but be aware you may not have functioning traction control and/or ABS while those lights are present.

SOURCE: road object broke off right downstream O2 sensor,

I hate to say it but coincidence does come into play. Be sure you have it plugged in, if so unplug it and see how it runs should run smoother if it is bad, try cleaning the inside of it with brake cleaner while you have it off to see if that helps, if not it sounds like it would have to be replaced.

P0125 code

The code means the engine is not reaching normal operating temp.
You would need to use a scanner to see what the temp sensor is telling the computer the coolant temp is.
If the coolant temp sensor is showing 180 degrees or more after 5 min of run time, the problem could be the computer.

'01 Sequoia throwing 2 OBD II codes: po125 & po135. replace pre-cat o2 sensor?

DTC P0125 OBD-II - Insufficient Coolant Temperature For Closed Loop Fuel Control
This means that the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor indicates that the engine has not reached the required temperature level to enter closed-loop operation within a specified amount of time after starting the engine. You will likely not notice any drivability problems.

A code P0125 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
Insufficient warm up time
Low engine coolant level
Leaking or stuck open thermostat
Faulty coolant temperature sensor

DTC P0135 OBD-II - Oxygen O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1, Sensor 1)
This code refers to the front oxygen sensor on Bank 1. The heated circuit in the oxygen sensor decreases time needed to enter closed loop. As the O2 heater reaches operating temperature, the oxygen sensor responds by switching according to oxygen content of the exhaust surrounding it. The ECM tracks how long it takes for the oxygen sensor to begin switching. It the ECM determines (based on coolant temp) that too much time elapsed before the oxygen sensor began operating properly, it will set P0135. You will likely notice poor fuel economy the illumination of the MIL.

A code P0135 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
O2 Heater element resistance is high
Internal short or open in the heater element
O2 heater circuit wiring high resistance
open or short to ground in the wiring harness

Code P0125 keeps coming up, obd system does not totally reset itself. 3 of 4 system checks do not reset even after many minutes of driving. This on a 98 T100 with 26,000 miles. I have erased the codes...

Hi,

The p0125 code is an oxygen sensor code, the description will say something like" insufficient coolant temp for closed loop operation" the problem is not the coolant temp sensor, the problem is that the signal from the O2 sensor is not within the parameters that the computer needs to go into a closed loop condition, more than likely replacing the O2 sensor will take care of the problem but only if there is not another problem with the engine such as a misfire, vacuum leak or a mechanical problem, from what you've said this doesn't seem to be the case, so before spending a lot of time diagnosing replace the sensor.

Thanks.

Check engine light on P0125

I have to tell this: Your dealer screwed up. The P-0171 remedy was to clean the Mass Air Flow Sensor, NOT replace an O2 sensor. The P-0125 indicates that you have the insufficient coolant temp, which is a thermostat sticking open. This is why your idle is so high, the coolant is not up to operating temperature, 192 degrees F...Clean the MAF and replace the thermostat, and tell the dealer that he screwed up on the O2 sensor diagnosis/replacement. They put an O2 on for no reason. Better yet, have THEM clean the MAF and replace the thermostat. They owe you that much.
