Yes, this is normal. The big wheel you are seeing is called the flywheel. The teeth that you can see are what the starter motor engage to turn the motor over. The hole is simply an inspection hole. From the factory there would have been a rubber plug in the hole, but if it has gone missing it is no worry.

SOURCE: how do i replace the gearbox of a holden VR?

Taking out the tail shaft from the rear diff but before pulling out of the gearbox Drain the oil from the box, take out the shaft,Take off the battery earth lead, and now the starter motor.and the bottom metal plate at the bottom of the bellhousing (should be 4 small screws. and undo the 4 bolts on the flywheel metal plate which hold the torque converter on to engine. undo the bellhousing bolts and the top hose on the radiator ,and the gearbox X member and let down g/box slowley and slide it off WITH converter on the box ,
When refitting the other box its all in the reverse of removal (ALL OF IT) as well as the converter on the gearbox before it goes in as it fits on the shaft and turn it around and keep going untill it slips into the 2nd lot of splines and in line with the bell housing face.(Do not damage the g/box seal).
Let me know how you get on , Aussie Ron

Holden VF Commodore. Will a VE radiator support panel fit a VF Commodore?

Unlikely

The VF Commodore was built on an altered version of the Holden designed GM Zeta platform, first used in the VE Commodore. The VF was an evolution of the VE, with several visual changes. The VF featured new styling at the front and rear, with a more modern, sculpted appearance replacing the VE's simpler design.

I cant find a fuse on a VE holden Commodore 2009

The fuse box on a 2009 Holden Commodore VE is typically located in one of two places:

Under the hood: The fuse box is usually located on the driver's side of the vehicle, near the firewall. It is a rectangular box with a black or gray plastic cover. You may need to lift the hood to access the fuse box.

Inside the vehicle: On some models, the fuse box is located on the driver's side, under the dashboard. It is usually located to the left of the steering wheel, near the driver's door.

To find the specific fuse that you are looking for, you will need to consult the owner's manual for your vehicle. This will provide a diagram of the fuse box, as well as a list of the fuses and their functions. The manual should also provide instructions on how to check and replace a fuse if necessary.

If you are having difficulty finding the fuse box or identifying the correct fuse, it is recommended that you seek the assistance of a professional mechanic. They will have the experience and knowledge to help you locate the fuse and make any necessary repairs.
