2001 Camry V6 1MZ-FE. Per the FSM, the alignment marks between the exhaust and intake cam gears should have two dots on the RH (rear) bank, and one dot on the LF (front) bank.

I am not familiar with the engine so I am unable to tell you whether the camshafts are interchangeable but I speculate the most likely scenario is the sprockets are dimensionally the same and in that case it would be the usual practice to engrave the intake timing mark one face and the exhaust timing mark on the other. Where the timing marks share the same relationship with the keyway it wouldn't really matter which wheel was fitted to which cam and which way around.,.

1999 lexus LX470 does the timing mark on the left bank line up with the single dot or the double dot if i line up with the double dot (as per manual) the pully for the timing belt points down 180 degr

looking from the front of the engine , the pulley mark on the LH cam pulley lines (12o'clock) up with the centre of the 2 notches and the RH lines up (12 o'clock) with the single notch. On the crank one mark will be lined up with a single notch at about the 1 o'clock position and another at the 3 o'clock position lined up with a series of dots. Ensure that you have the piston on TDC no1 first and align the crank marks first.

I KNOW IT IS 123456 BUT I wanted to know where they go do they fire ? 12/34/56/? or do they fire 14/36/52??

The #1 cylinder is on the passenger side front, those are cylinders 1,3,5 the other side are 2,4,6 counting from the front.
#1 coil also fires #4, #3 coil fires #6 and #5 also fires #2.
The cam gears on the middle of the cams are two piece spring loaded gears, there is a hole for a bolt to go in after the two pieces are lined up until the cams are installed then the bolts are removed, if you have any kind of manual it should mention this. The two dats are called assembly marks and are not the timing marks, the timing marls are the single dots, they use the assembly marks so that when the cams are in you can remove the 10mm bolt from the gears. let me know if you need some illustrations for those marks and I'll see if I can upload something for you but it may be tomorrow.

How to set the time belt?

4 Cylinder diesel(4JX1) :
1 - Timing mark
2 - Cam pulley
3 - HP Oil pump pulley
4 - Tensioner pulley

suzman_0.jpg

6 Cylinder petrol:
Align crank(C) timing notch mark (1) to oil pump mark.
Align cam pulley(L+R) marks(3) to cylinder head marks
The cam belt has 3 marks, 2 lines and one mark that is actually a row of dots. Align the dots to the crank pulley groove mark(2) and align the other 2 lines to the cam pulley marks. Using a clothes peg to hold the belt to the cam pulleys works wonders to keep it in place while fitting. Please note the arrows on the belt and have them point in the direction of rotation - right to left side of engine
W - water pump pulley
I - Idler pulley
T - Tensioner pulley.

If for some reason you need to realign the cams on each bank :
Standing in front of the car and starting from YOUR left , looking at the cams you should see RE, RI, LI, LE on each of the camshafts.(R for right bank, L for left bank, I for intake and E for exhaust) Right bank camshafts are marked with one dot, left bank with 2 dots on the shaft itself. To align the camshafts to each other each cam shaft gear has a mark on it. Draw an imaginary line between the centre of the camshaft and the centre of the pulley. The alignment mark should be between the two along this imaginary line. The result will be that RI an RE will be at the top of each gear. The same with the left bank.

2002 isuzu trooper want pull hat off your head timing belt marks are on mark. the motor will crank but do not have enough power to pull off. it is a 3.5 v-6 and computer code shows p1120 and p1334.

Aah I see. Let's start from the beginning then. Also read this: http://www.fixya.com/cars/t3609098-nned_know_set_cam_engine_timing
It explains setting the timing further. Get these set up correctly and then we can dig further. I can post a diagram but haven't figured out how on Fixya yet.

Need cam timing specs 22r toyota truck

there will be two highlighted or dotted chain links for the camshaft and one for the crankshaft gear, position cam dot/TDC indicator in the 12-O clock position, the two dotted links should be on ether side of cam dot, turn crank dot to the 6-O clock position and line up highlighted link with dot on crank gear, if timing cover is on, then make sure cylinder 1 is at TDC when the two links are at 12-O clock.
