I have the same problem sometimes
1 Check the condition of your battery, if old, it will not give full power required to communicate with the security system.
2 If you don't have the EKA of your RR, try this next time you get caught, put key in the drivers door look, press unlock button on key fob and at the same time turn to unlock, if all locks unlock then the engine should not be immobilized - Good luck

SOURCE: battery went flat now wont take key code in

key code lock out usually happens when you have entered the wrong code too many times leaving the battery connected should allow the timer to run down for 30 mins so you can try again, it is cumulative though so the more you get it wrong the longer you have to wait. make sure battery is fully charged first.

Welcome to Fixya

Sounds like there is problem on the door lock mechanism. Please see tips below on how to troubleshoot this problem.

1 Lubricate the door lock tumblers by using an aerosol can equipped with an extension straw to spray a small amount of graphite based lubricant into the lock opening. In some cases the brass tumblers become sticky and will not release from their interference position. Gently work the key back and forth to see if the lock works. If not, give the lubricant time to work, so wait 10 minutes and try again.
2 Inspect the key for excessively worn areas. If the peaks and valleys are eroded, a new key will need to be cut. Do not duplicate the worn key. If no original key or key code is available, provide proof of ownership along with the Vehicle Identification Number to a dealership that sells new vehicles of the same make. The dealer can cut an original, replacement key without the wear defects. In many cases this repairs the problem.
3 Remove the inner door panel. Be thorough searching for hidden retaining screws and clips. Look behind switches, under arm rests and under side-view mirror covers. Remove all the screws or retaining clips.
4 Gently pry on one corner of the door panel to release the self-retaining door panel push-pins. Do not force the panel off if it fails to release, instead look further for hidden mounting screws. Disconnect any wiring harness connectors, and remove any additional mounting screws. Remove the door panel and set it aside.
5 Using a flashlight, Inspect the lock cylinder. Attached to the back of the cylinder are one or more lock activation rods that go to the lock. Make sure they are secure and properly aligned. Inspect the lock assembly. The lock is built into the door latch. The latch is midway down the door and clicks onto the door striker when the door is closed.
6 Inspect the power door lock motor. The power door lock motor drives a short rod to operate the lock-unlock mode.

How do you enable a range rover engine when key battery is flat

There is a sequence of left and right turns of the key in the driver's door that will reset your bECM (Rovers brain) if the following have been tried.
1. Replace batteries in remote and 're-sync by depressing lock button on remote while physically turning and locking the door. Don't release button until locked and key removed. Repeat for unlock button.
2. Disconnect negative/earth cable from battery. While disconnected open driver's door, turn ignition to position 2, return to battery leaving driver's door open and reconnect the negative cable. Proceed to ignition. Turn off completely. Close all doors and hood and attempt starting.
Should both of these methods fail, run a search here on fixya for "engine disabled Range Rover P38" This will take you to step by step instructions on resetting the bECM which I opened this post with. It has been covered many times here, including by myself, no reason to post it again.
Good Luck!

2002 HYUNDAI SONATA. KEY FOBS WILL UNLOCK ALL

Replace the "lock" relay, found behind the fuse box. You have to stick your head where the gas pedal is, and look at the top end of the back of the fuse panel. There are 2 small square plastic boxes. Unplug them, spray them with electrical cleaning spray, and switch their spots. If everything works, there was some contact problem, if door will now lock but not unlock, one of the relays is bad. Part number "HMC DECO 95225 - 38300".
