SOURCE: How do you add engine oil to a C63 AMG?

Open the oil filler cap at the front right head. Close to the right air intake. It has the AMG logo on it. It can be twisted open by hand.

Possible lifter knock, been very cold here in midwest. runs fine in cold weather. warming up and i get a knock from engine. removed oil cap and does not really get louder ?? does go away and comes bac

Your hearing lifter noise common in most cars in cold weather I have a 2001 sc1 same engine as yours here's how to get rid of that ticking sound go buy a quart of Lucas synthetic motor treatment change your oil and leave it 1 quart low add the Lucas synthetic oil stabilizer within 1 week you will not hear the noise agian reason your hearing the noise is there's no oil at the top of the engine on a cold start oil when cold is thicker hints why your noise in your engine what Lucas does is eliminate the dry start by the way my engine has 288,000 and does not use a drop of oil after you use this product you should use it every oil change you will see your car will thank you regards Chris

I have a 2005 nissan altima. Which I hate, we've had nothing but problems with this car and now it is making a ticking noise which seems to be coming from the right side of the engine. Also it seems to...

A lot of times a ticking sound is the valves, which usually means a valve job when it gets bad enough.

But if it is a gentler tick sound it could be what is know as a wrist pin knock, which in some cases is not a big deal and others a big deal.

If the sound gets louder and louder, you will have to do something about it. But if it stays pretty constant then you monitor it, and look for other indications such as losing power, excessise oil use, etc.

Loud rattling / buzzing noise from engine when cold not seconday air pump or air valve as already replaced.Timing belt, water pump and aux pullies all checked and ok.The colder the weather the louder the...

If the rattling changes with the revs of the engine, it might be that the valve compensators are either worn or not getting enough lubrication. 20V engines have quite small oil passages travelling to the head. They tend to clog up with gunk if the oil change is not frequent enough.

2008 mercedes benz ml63 amg oil consumption problem

Is the merc dealer serviced??, sometimes if you change brands of oils in synthetics >>semi synthetics you will get excess oil useage. City driving will tend to use more oil, but the merc should be able to do its 10,000k betwwen oilchanges.
Anyway, check what oil is being used in both weight example 0-60w, 5w-30 etc and by brand, check that the API oil spec meets what is required for your vehicle example API SM, SJ, SL etc.

Engine ticking noise on cold starts

Sounds like a stuck valve lifter. I'd use some oil additive for unsticking lifters.
