If you replaced the fuel pump then there is a possibility that during the job then some debris from the tank and/or filter got loose somewhere into the fuel system and is in your lines. It could even be a very tiny speck of gasket material, old or new.

SOURCE: 2002 Pontiac Montana. Got home turned van off.

by the sounds of it the altanator is putting out enough voltage to keep the car running I my self don't think that it's the alt but the battery, if you don't know the age than it's not a bad idea to replace the battery. if the problem is still there than I would test the alt, should be putting out 14.6 volt at all times. but replace the battery first.

What you should do is check for spark when the vehicle stalls. If you have no spark then you probably have a bad ignition module. The other thing is You didn`t mention if the check engine light is coming on.If it is then have the codes read.Even if it is not you should still check the codes.Sometimes the computer will have a code and the light will not come on.This could give you a clue as to what could be causing the engine to stall. You might also want to check your fuel pressure just to make sure it is good. The pressure should be 52 - 59 psi.Hope this helps.Good luck.

SOURCE: 2001 Pontiac Montana - what is a misfire #5?

Without your actual trouble code, I am assuming that you are have a misfire on cylinder # 5. The computer cannot really tell what is causing the misfire only that cyl 5 is not putting out full power. If it misfires when cold then smooths out as it warms up, I would say it is probably an injector that is sticky, as it warms up it starts working properly.

Testimonial: "Thank you for your suggestion. I will have that checked out. I will also ask my mechanic what the actual trouble code says."

2002 aztek stalls after driving for a while

Does it start back up right away ? If not check for spark at a spark plug . Do you know how to do that ? Hold plug wire end near ground and have a helper try to start the vehicle . If there is spark , check fuel pressure . Videos on youtube showing how to do these basic test's . After you find out what is missing , then it gets a little harder . Electrical testing the system that's the problem .All kind of good videos on youtube for trouble shooting ignition , fuel systems . Video's on basic automotive electrical testing . You also need to be aware of the complexity of the engine control systems . PCM/ECM - engine computers .Also serial data communication networks , in the case of your pontiac GM used Class 2 data bus for module communication network . A engine sensor starting to short out can cause problems like you are having also . Shorting out the 5 volt ref. voltage the engine computer sends out to the sensors on the engine. Like the TPS - throttle position sensor , MAP - manifold absolut pressure sensor , crankshaft position sensor , camshaft position sensor . There are a couple others , doesn't matter . Test for the 5 volts at the easiest place TPS . Less then 5 volts one of the other sensors is shorted . More then 5 volts shorted to vehicle battery power . Trouble shooting the modern computer controlled car is no piece of cake .

1988 Buick Century 3.8 stalling issue starts back up. fuel pump/filter replaced it stalls out randomly at all driving conditions. I am stumped on this one. anyone have help for me on this?

Does it seem to do it more once it runs for a bit? It could be a bad DIS module. They are known to fail once they get hot. Either that or the ignition switch located at the top of the base of the column.

Stalls on right turns starts right back up

For trouble shooting, install a fuel pressure gauge an allow it to sit near the windshield wipers while you attempt to make it stall. Does the FP drop while turning?

I don't think it's your ECM. Your problem has a pattern which is based on time or temperature. You might try looking at the IAC or "idle air control". It regulates air intake and adjust idle speed. They can get dirty and need cleaning.

1990 Buick Lesabre keeps stalling

Check ecm for part number 1228253. If it has this number in it replace it with a 16198264. Gm had trouble with that ecm for a cutting off problem. Mine would stall driving down the road and when I would put it neutral it would start back up and not have any trouble for the rest of the day. You must set the tps with a volt meter or scan tool.
