No engine type stated, there are 6 engines used.
but bad idle is caused by 2 things.

  • misfire.
  • or lean AFR, lean fuel mix.. causes HUNTING
the ECU can also cause the hunt if it can not hold hot idle to spec.
most cars is 800rpm.

SOURCE: Hi....What type spark plugs would you recommend

Factory, All these higher grade plugs can make your car run worse and skip. If Your car isn't modified to have the need for higher grade plugs I don't suggest using them. If any higher grade, I would go only a step up from factory which i suggest is platinum, It may give you better gas mileage but on the other hand it may be worse. I tune up VW with autolite platinum, Use autolite in my Expedition. Some don't suggest these but it's the person's personal opinion on what to use.

How do I fix, bad idle in suzuki swift , check light on, no codes.

the title is contradiction
" check light on, no codes."<< totally wrong
scan it one more time with a REAL scan tool this time. (there are DTC errors , or codes as you said)

what does bad idle mean? misfiring, or idle speed too low
or too high? RPM, or
surging?

say what that means please.
and more important is engine hot or cold ? failing.???? or both????
there are over 50 causes.
but can be broken down to simple physics and gauges.
1: engine bad, lost compression.
2: engine cant breath, dirty air cleaner
3: ISC stuck closed or open or just stuck. (bad idle air supply)
4: bad spark, 1 or all 4 (never had a tune in this decade.
5: cam drive, slipped (belt) causing #1 failure.
6: air fuel mix too lean, and causes rpm drop and ISC fails.
7: air fuel mix too rich and misfires.
8: egr stuck open, it misfires and ISC gives up.
9: cat clogged, engine cant breath #2 like.
10: and the vast other reasons for misfire.

we cant drive it, see it or hear it misfire, so.....????

there is a test for all 10, ask. or get car serviced.

2010 suzuki sx4 no spark on coil

first check all fuses !!!!
Problem with 1996 Suzuki Swift????????????????????? 2010 suzuki sx4 no spark on coil????????????????
SX4? (J20 suzuki engine?)
Japanese automaker Suzuki and Italian automaker FIAT
8 different engines used (world-wide), so post engine option.
usa 3: 2010
COILS:
on all coils?, (you posted 1996 and 2010 at same time)
and swift and SX4 at same time. my guess, is you piggybacked on the swift post with SX4 question, instead of starting a fresh new post?
The SX4 has, COPS are all 4 dead?
it has 4 coils, called COPS. or PACK WITH COILS INSIDE,

IN 2010 we had these optios, which one is yours?
yours is not diesel, as you stated spark. so... down to 2 engine.s
the 2010 model year, SX4 five-door hatchback is available with a 1.6 L DOHC VVT engine, 2.0 L DOHC VVT engine and 2.0 L DDiS diesel engine (16 valve, 135 PS (99 kW; 133 hp) with 320 N·m (240 lb·ft) torque) on the AWD version.
aka: J20A or J20B engines. the B has VVT cam.
my guess? is it's a Suzuki engine in a fiat body?

Air intake Problem

It is called a warm up tube. It's purpose is to keep the CARB or Throttle plate area from icing up.

I have witnessed icing at 45 degrees (measured) ambient temprature. The low pressure surrounding the throttle plate(s) makes the area very cold.

If you do not have this tube, or the controls for it are not working, you get wierd stalling, or over rich conditions...Turn car off for few minutes (7-11 stop for example) and restart car...pretso, runs and idles perfect...

I have 2 x swift GTi's, with high rev problems!!

Well, depending on your market of course, I'd still be fairly sure you do have a choke! It is located on the rear of the intake air plenumn chamber and has 2 small coolant hoses that come up from underneath - one comes from the thermostat housing area, and the other goes to the water pump area. Disconnect these and make sure you can blow easily through the choke unit. Like most Suzuki thermo-wax choke elements, they need hot water to contract, and in so doing, reduce the amount of extra air let into the engine. Unfortunately, it sounds like you may have adjusted the throttle stopper screw (it may have had a tamper-proof cover on it). If you have, the throttle plate-to-barrel clearance should be set back to as close as what your other car is by measuring the clearance with feeler gages. Let me know how you get on. I've got a 1991 version of the same and I'm in Australia.

Suzuki swift Headlight problem

Have you checked to see if this is a wiring problem or maybe a relay problem?

Recently my lights would work on side lights and not anything else and this was down to dodgy wiring and needed a new relay unit.
