A electronic part that goes inside the distributor [don't know what its called] but I still have the same problem ,its shuts down. can this problem be found in the ECM?
You didn't say what engine size, but no matter for me. That sounds like the ignition control module-about the size of a matchbook, and 4 or 5 wires to it. GM often put them in the base of the distributor.
The PCM controls spark timing by signaling to the ignition control module. This module controls the ignition coil, it cuts the primary current to the coil (when the pcm signals it), so that high voltage spark is generated from the coil.

Try cleaning the EGR, there common to carbon build up on the 95 JImmy's.

Try the fuel filter. Sounds like the engine might be running rough due to weak fuel pressure. Its cheaper to replace, especially if it's still original from 04. Try running some injector cleaner through a couple of tanks of high octane gas.

I had that same problem until I ran into another problem but for that problem I redid All 12 main points where is ground. in the engine. It ended up being the shoe string looking ground wire that's towards the left front wheel barrel in the bottom connected to nothing really. Clean it up you can reuse it but put it on one of the back of the firewall in the middle and connected to the block engine blocks from where and tighten the bolts over in the area
