I have a08 Prius, and a master warning light comes on(the red triangle) when i am breaking or sitting, but only stays on a few seconds, in the manuel, it says not to driveand see dealer right away

Check your brake pads first,as they have a wear warning clip on them.so if you hear a loud screaming noise.Then its quite possible they have worn causing ur warning lights to come on.And i would get anouther quote as that is quite dear for a pump replacement.If it is the pump.good luck pippall!!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with your car. It's actually keeping you safe! If the outside ambient temperature is +37F or lower, your car knows this and gives a warning for possible black ice conditions. Lots of people wonder the same thing, next time it shows the warning, note the outside temp to see if it's below +37F.
