Fan for the heat and air works at times

I have and 1994 Ford Explorer and I have a simular problem with my fan on the heat and air condition. It comes on sometimes and will run till I shut the car off, then when I restart it, sometimes it will blow and again it won't come on till I get to my destination. I went and bought a resistor but I don't know where it goes....I was told it was next to my heater coil when it comes in. Do you have anything that can show me where this goes?

I have simular problems except mine comes on sometimes

It is connected to the thermostat to regulate the temp meaning when should the fan blow & when not. I dont know why the resistor will work, most pprobably a short-cut method to make it work till you replace the thermostat............sodeep

Radiator fan doesnt switch off.

Many vehicles are set up to run the radiator(/ac condenser) fan whenever the air conditioning is on. Might this be the case here - is the air conditioning on when on the open road? Just a thought.

I am in saudiarab i have crown victoria 97 model it is working good but i have problum in air condition system when i run my car its running good no problum but when i start my air condition it is heating...

The air conditioning condenser creates a lot of heat when the a/c is on. The cooling fan is supposed to run the whole time the a/c is on to keep it cool. If the fan isn't on, the radiator will absorb this heat and cause your car to over heat. You should also check your coolant level. So, it sounds to me like your cooling fan isn't working.

the cooling fan will always come on when using the a/c,so it is not a fan problem, sounds like the pcm is not getting a signal to turn cooling fan on,could be coolant temp sensor.
