I have a problem with air suspension. THe compressor ran intermittently to keep the suspension "up" but not alot. Recently, the rear goes completely down when not running but still pumps up when I start it. Also, if I gun it, when the transmission shift it feels like it moves as bit sideways. I have been taking it easy since and when it shifts lightly it does not move sideways. Any ideas? easy fix or replace?
The movement is caused by a loose suspension. Deflated parts will not control body roll and without cushion suspension parts can be bent.
Having to replace only a defective broken part is cheaper than guessing. The air suspension has a diagnostic feature which can pinpoint bad components. A high end diagnostic scanner can hook up to the suspension and tell you what needs replacing.
If only a component needs replacing the cost can be low. Even the air bags can be patched or some will interface with cheaper Ford air suspension. But if things are too expensive some people replace the suspension with regular coil springs. You lose a lot, load leveling and superior ride.
You might Websearch for videos about these repairs.
SOURCE: air suspension went out
All things are possible, it's more how much, not can I these days.
I would contact one or more of the big name auto parts stores and see what shocks and or kits they have to offer.
This way you can decide what solution suits your needs and your budget.
Hope this is of some help.

SOURCE: check air suspension light
the compressor is located under the air cleaner box. but if you dont want that hassle simply remove the fuse in the fuse panel under the hood. its next to the battery, under the cover there will be specific fuse locations on the lid, its a 30 amp fuse. once removed the noise will stop, but the light may come back on. In the conversion kit there are instructions on which wire to clip, also note that the module for the suspension also has circuits related to the steering as well, be careful.

Those Lincolns are notorious for that,I'd just get a set of coil springs out of a Crown Victoria cop car(junk yard)and swap them out.Done it many times, you can do it in about an hour, and they'll never leak down again.By the way, there's some O-rings in that system.Make some soapy water and spray every connection, just maybe you'll get lucky.

Hello. your air suspension is definitely leaking air somewhere. The only way to locate and repair the leak is to take it to a garage that does this type of work. Call a few local repair shops and get estimates. Regards, Joe
