SOURCE: 2006 LEXUS IS 250 OR 2003 LEXUS ES300

How does the ES 300 fit your driving style?
Conservative drivers your dream come true, Smooth, comfortable and quiet, easy to control and predictable. This car is the one to beat.

Sporty drivers Electronic throttle is very responsive, handles well for a car with such a cushy ride, Not as powerful as the other cars in this class.

Fast drivers Should opt for the Adaptive Variable Suspension. The firm setting provides this car with the character you are looking for as far as handling goes, but for all around performance, you may be happier with a Lexus IS300 or maybe an Acura TL Type S.

The answer to your question - the IS-250 is a luxury model, and the IS is sporty.

Both considered in the same CLASS of vehicle - near Luxury.

Who should buy this car? A person who is looking for a mid-sized sedan that is a cut above the average sedan in styling, comfort, luxury & performance.

SOURCE: 2000 Lexus ES300 - 45K

Are you sure this is a rattle or is it more of a creaking noise? I have a 2000 ES300 and had an issue when I would go over speed bumps and the noise would drive me nuts! However replacing the bushing in the top of the strut mount is expensive due to the labor involved.. Replacement of the strut or the bushing isn't necessary. Just open the hood, locate the strut housing and you ll be able to see the black rubber bushing in the middle. Obtain a can of Heavy Duty silicone aerosol spray and attach a straw to the spray tip. Using a flathead screwdriver wedge the screwdriver between the top of the bushing and the metal pushing the screwdriver all the way to the edge of the metal underneath the roof of the metal housing. Then pry the edge of the bushing away from the metal housing so that the top of the edge of the bushing exposed and stick the straw end of the silicone into the spot and spray generously. Only slight bushing movement will be obtained as the bushing is pretty stiff but it will be enough. Work your way around using this technique until you get the spray fully around the bushing 360 degrees getting it into the area between the edge of the bushing and the metal. Then spray the silicone onto the top of the bushing filling it all the way up until it spills over the metal. After it drains down, repeat again making sure you fill it above the rim of the bushing so it seeps into the area between the bushing and he metal housing (or frame) because this is where the rubbing is taking place that is creating that awful noise. Repeat on the other side and your done. The main goal is to get the silicone into the area between the metal and the bushing along the edge. This happens to be the way I was able to do it. This totally solved my problem and now the car is so quiet there aren't any knocking, creaking or rattling noises. This was a hard solution to explain without visuals, hope you can follow. This will work for sure. The Heavy Duty Silicone spray I used was manufactured by CRC and I bought it from Walmart.

This light is not programmed to a service interval, it is a fault sensor code light.
The check engine light will come on after refueling if you have a loose gas cap. It may also come on if you have an exhaust leak or a fuel mixture issue casued by one of several 02 senosrs malfunctioning .
If the issue is the gas cap often after releasing and tightening the cap your light will go out within a day or two of driving. You could also add some fuel injector cleaner.
Sometimes the lights will need to be reset with a code reading device plugged in under dash. This device will read out engine fault codes and help determine the problem are in the engine.
If you have a failed O2 sensor and continue to drive the ECU will adjust your fuel mixture in an attempt to correct the problem, so it is best to have the readout checked.
Lexus service is second to none and Lexus is not out to take your money, only to ensure a long and satisfying ownership with a top performing car. You are VERY fortunate to have an 03 with such low mileage. My 2001 RX300 has over 150,000 miles and is still going strong, same engine as yours.

Is your O/D off? There should be a light under your speedometer, if it says "O/D OFF" than your car wont go to fourth gear. You can turn the overdrive back on on the knob that changes gears, theres a little button on the side. Press it and you should be good.

SOURCE: my 2000 lexus es 300 will not shift into

I just had the same thing happen to me. Took the car to the dealership to ensure that I was putting money where the money needed to go. Turns out that I have a bad knock sensor that needs to be replaced. Not an easy fix. Garage/mechanic comparisons range from local garages (TN) from $700-$900. Hope this helps.

How to change wiper blades

The 2003 Lexus ES300 has the most common hook-end wiper arms. If you purchase the replacement blades first, there will be additional instructions/illustrations on the replacement packages. Locate and press the tab or button where the wiper blade is inserted into the hook of the wiper arm and pull wiper blade out of hook. You may have to rotate and flex the blade to make enough clearance for the hook to pass through.

RPM near 3000 on my 1999 Lexus RX300

What is your speed at 3k rpm? What rpm would you estimate was previously 'normal' for highway cruising? If your Lexus is auto trans, it could be two things, it's either not shifting into the highest gear, or it's possibly slipping in gear (although I would think that would cause the rpms to fluctuate, not stay at a steady 3k). If it's a stick shift, again, it could be clutch slippage, but my choice from your description would be not shifting into the highest gear. Bring it up to highway speed slowly, counting how many shifts it makes, I.m guessing it's a 5 speed auto, but I'm not sure about that.

2000 es300 lexus auto w overdrive button overdrive 4th gear not work

There isn't anything wrong with your car. This is perfectly normal. I have a 2000 ES300 as well as other people that I know and it operates in the same way. Overdrive doesn't mean the same thing for every car or transmission. In our case overdrive is simply a reference to the top gear which is 4th gear. When you switch overdrive off(which is depressing the button causing the O/D OFF dash light to illuminate,) the highest gear becomes 3rd because you turned 4th gear or overdrive off. The application scenario for this is usually mountainous terrain where a lot of uphill driving makes it more feasible not to up shift into 4th gear while ascending and descending. It will not switch back to overdrive or 4th gear until you re-engage it by turning the overdrive back on or repressing the button. Again, when the O/D OFF dash light is illuminated, overdrive which is 4th gear is off and the highest gear will then become 3rd. It will never shift into 4th gear while this light is illuminated or overdrive is off. When you press the button and the O/D OFF dash light is NOT illuminated overdrive is on and therefore it will shift into 4th gear as usual. This applies to all 97-2001 ES300's and probably any other car you drive tat exhibits this same type of change when overdrive is turned off.
