My guess would be, based on the age of the car, that the compressor is out of oil; meaning it doesn't work. It's not a simple matter of adding oil like to an engine.

SOURCE: 97 buick skylark ac evaporator core what do i need to do to get to it

Did you replace the schrader valves (the thing in the inside of the A/C service fittings, you need a special tool to remove and install them) before you recharged the system? They are notorious for leaking if they are old.

If you did not, replace those and try again, if it leaks out again with no evidence you most likely have a bad evap core.

And yes, it's a pain in the ****, plan on it taking a 30 pack of bud light and a weekend to do, or one day and a 12 pack if you are good. Just start taking the dash apart, and may the force be with you. It will be behind the glove box

SOURCE: Buick Roadmaster 1996 AC not working

The linear actuator that regulates the blend of air between hot and cold was broken and needed to be replaced. That was my suspicion. Fuses were all good. Relays were all good. Compressor pump cycled. Freon was "proper". Dealership only charged about $400 in parts and labor to confirm my guess.

SOURCE: Which port do I recharge my ac in my 2000 buick

If you have no Refrigerant in the system, you don't put any in. It will just leak out and pollute the atmosphere.
Go to a repair shop that does A/C work and follows correct EPA standards for working on air conditioning.
You can't do that job at home without proper training and equipment.

97 Olds Aurora AC blowing warm air a day after recharging system

Several- The system should hold freon for years without leaking. There are pressure switches and they cut off the compressor with an undercharge and an overcharge. You need guages to measure the charge. There are testers the A/C shops have called "sniffers" which can detect a leak. If you have no leak then you need a technician to add or remove freon to get the concentration right. Or you need guages.

The ac only blows warm air, have recharged it with freon but it only cools minutes before blowing warm again, could find no leaks

There are special cans of R-134A with dye in them for detecting leaks. Most leaks occur around the fittings near the compressor. Recharge the system with the leak detector can or R-134A. There are also cans of R-134A with an additive to stop leaks. I would use these products to either detect your leak or to stop it. Best of luck.

AC switch

you dont need to do that, you can charge the system and when it reaches enough pressure it will start to cycle, usually what happens when you jump it is that when you fire it up the system is low and possibly not lubercated properly untill you reach the proper fill amount.many ways to do the same job but Ive done a/c for a longgggg time, hope it helps have a good day DB
