is the water leak allowing the water to wick up into the headliner or is the headliner getting wet without water coming past the weather stripping around the door?
If it is wicking then fix the weather stripping.
If the water is getting headliner wet with out passing the weather stripping then you have a leaking sun roof.
You can the door seal by sitting in the car while you have some spray water (garden hose) gentle at the frontal and upper door seal.
If not leak there inspect seal of sun roof and real seal with correct type of sealant.
Sun roof drain may be disconnected or clogged( this is the most likely cause). It is found behind the trim on the upper half of the back pillar. I have also seen where the sunroof frame itself cracked causing the leak, only way to really see that is to lower the headliner a little and inspect for dripping water while spraying the top with water
If it has a sun roof, check it for leaks or there are drain tubes coming off of the sunroof that drain water from the roof. If the drain tubes are blocked the water could come inside. If the inside headliner has stains on it, they may be water stains which tells of a leak.
You can usually fix this problem by putting a little vasoline around the rubber groves. this will make the rubber seal and help the leaks. This works i did it on my wife's pt, cruser.
Good luck.
Open your sun roof all the way. look in the two front corners you will see little holes, water runs under your sun roof all the time, it is guided toward these holes, what you can't see is under the headliner there are tubes connected to these holes. the tubes wind their way down the 'A' pillar and out the bottom of the car. if you carefuly pour a cup of water into these holes you will notice it 'peeing' out somewhere behind the front tire. NOW your problem is in the back. at the back of the sun roof opening there are also two small holes, sometimes very hard to find but they will be there.the rear tubes take different paths on differnt vehicles but the end result is the same. (they all drain out the bottom somewhere). take a cup of water and pour it down each side and note if it is draining properly. if one side is not, it could be a cracked hose, or the hose has come off, or it has become blocked. if all four holes are draining properly it's most likely not your sunroof.
hope this helps
The ac drains to the outside thru the firewall under the outside part of the heat/ac box under the hood. Tube can get clogged. Does your car have a sun roof? the drain tubes on a sun roof can also come off and put water into the cabin.
well the easy way to check is open the sun roof look from the top of the car inside the sunroof is there sitting water in the little drain areas around the sunroof if so the drain is not working... if no sitting water pour some water in see if it drains if it does drain it is prolly the seal isself so if the water drains fine then close the sun roof and spray it with a hose if it still leaks in prolly the seal...if its the drain hose you will have to trace it it useally runs down the a piller let me no what you find or have other questions
