If have had this problem many times on Mk4 vw golf.
The transmission oil must be fully drained, frop the gearbox sump and replace the filter kit (widley available). Make sure everything is really clean, especially the oil pickup pipe and screen.
I generally measure the oil removed and refill the same amount. you must use the correct transmission oil....so check. I think its dextron3 or similar..but all stockists will have a listing for it.
There is no dipstick , the only way to test is using a scanner or trial and error ( i do not recommend the latter).
Chech vw forums for diagrams showing the drain plug on the sump...you never get all the oil out due to height of the neck and the fact that the torque convertor and oil coolers still have oil in them.
good luck
Roger

SOURCE: Automatic transmission won't shift into drive

Check automatic transmission fluid using dipstick, if fluid is low the automatic g/box tend not to shift properly. If the fluid level is fine you probably have an internal gearbox problem or a sensor problem (see a mechanic).

SOURCE: How do I repair the gear shift?

Locate where the shift cable linkage mount to trans, check for good tight attachment to ball socket, then have some one move shift lever through gears watch to see if cable moves shift arm BOTH directions if not replace cable

How many gear shifts solenoids on a 2005 Chevy Avalanche

The 2005 Chevy Avalanche is available with different transmission and shift options, which can affect the number of transmission shift solenoids present.

However, generally, the 4-speed automatic transmission (4L60E) used in the 2005 Chevy Avalanche typically has a total of 7 transmission shift solenoids. These solenoids are used to control the activation and deactivation of the transmission's clutches and valves, allowing the vehicle to shift gears smoothly and seamlessly.

It's important to note that the number of transmission shift solenoids may vary depending on the year, model, and configuration of the Chevy Avalanche.

What is the cause of the Toyota Gaia dragging in gear change, while dragging the speedometer does not read, once the gear shifts the speedometer starts to read, everything then becomes normal?

no car stated (Gaia what? er Toyota )
2.0Liter told later
no transmission type, AUTO IT IS. NOT STICKSHIFT.

I guess dragging means delayed shift in the automatic>?

why not ask your autoshop this,.>?>?> as 99% do.

if any automatic fails to up shift the speed is low
speed low cause the speedometer to read low.
not upshifting can be cause by 2 things, weak engine or bad transmission.
you will never learn or discover why only your shop will. BUT I did answer below. and can expand each line by 100 fold if need be.
and more if the year car was told or what transmission model is there, some cars had 2 choice or more back then.

My golf 4 automatic 2.0 does not change gears is stuck in a highest gears,, if i press the petrol petal flat is increasing speed very very slowly,, so i can over take, i pull up hill very slowly and c

Your vehicle is in the limp home mode due to the transmission fault code. The computer will not allow it to shift. You need to take it to a shop unless you have experince with auto transmissions

1995 nissan sentra automatic trasmission will not go into passing gear

Gear shifts happen depending on how far the gas pedal is
pressed & the load on the vehicle

Transmission pressures change as you drive under different conditions,so the shifts happen at different speeds

There is no passing gear

If you have a 4 speed, you have 3 forward gears & an overdrive
forward gear, plus torque converter lock-up

You saying you have no 4th to 3rd downshift or whatever

Maybe the transaxle is failing mechanically inside-worn out

Electronic pressure control solenoid circuit p1745. Check engine light on 2000 ford escort, 4cl, automatic. Advance auto told me it was a dealer part but I can't find it on any of the ford websites?...

Here is what the service manual says about the EPC solenoid, the processor looks at allot of different inputs to command the solenoids, such as Throttle Position Sensor, Vehicle Speed Sensors, Transmission Range Sensor and RPM signal, The PCM controls the shift patterns for the transmission. Electronic Pressure Control (EPC) Solenoid
The electronic pressure control (EPC) solenoid is located on the main control valve body and is controlled by the PCM. The EPC controls line pressure used to apply and release clutches and bands in the transmission.
The 2-3 shift solenoid is located on the main control valve body and is switched on and off by electrical signals from the PCM. The 2-3 shift solenoid activates the 2-3 shift valve which controls the automatic shifting between second and third gear. Second gear is established when the 2-3 shift solenoid is switched on. The 2-3 shift solenoid is switched off when vehicle speed increases and requires a second to third gear upshift.
The 3-4 shift solenoid is located on the main control valve body and is switched on and off by electrical signals from the PCM. The 3-4 shift solenoid activates the 3-4 shift valve which controls the automatic shifting between third and fourth gear. Third gear is established when the 3-4 solenoid is switched off. The 3-4 shift solenoid is switched on when vehicle speed increases and requires a third to fourth gear upshift.

2001 VW Golf does not shift at 3k rpm. almost 4k how do I check the fluid level

Hi, You will need another person to do this (adalt) Have him sit in the driver side holding the brake.
Shift the car in gear as you check the transmission dip stick. (Automatic) If you have a manual transmission you will have to crawl under the car and undo level check bolt.
Check shift linkage when you are under the car.
If transmission will not shift syncro gear maybe out of sync. I would suggest that you may not be able do the repair on automatic transmission because it is very difficult to do.
