Broken latch cable for bonnet

you don't have many options right now, here is what you can try.

if the cable broke on the dash end, try to removing the release latch from the dash and grab the remaining part of the cable with locking pliers.

if the cable broke at the hood latch end. you will need to pry the latch open in the same direction that the cable release operates.
this might be possible with a long flat screw driver with the grill in place. to accomplish this try finding photos of the latch online to see how the mechanism operates. there will be two levers one with the cable attached the other is the safety. the cable lever needs to be released for the hood to open

The cable broke that releases the hood on my 1995 Honda Accord and now the release latch inside the foot well does not work and the hood does not open. Is there an emergency way to open the hood? I have a...

There is no emergency latch. The best way to get it open is to remove the cable from the release latch in the footwell, then use a pair of pliers to pull the cable and open the hood. You might even have to strip the cable covering back a little to get to the cable.

My hood release cable is broken at the inside handle....how do I open my hood?

If there is a bit of the broken end of cable still visible where it broke off from the handle, try grabbing it with a pair of vise grips to pull it and open the hood.
Maybe the handle will need to be removed in order to get to the broken end of the cable.

Hood wire is out from the latch at the hood end...how to open the hood (1997 Honda accord)

first, try smacking the hood at one of the front corners while someone else pulls the release handle. or even after you've pulled on it. if that works, once open, adjust and lubricate the hood latch assembly. if it still won't open, and it's the cable and not the latch you'll have to replace it anyway, so instead of removing the grill, cut the cable behind the pull lever under the dash where you can reach it. then skin the outer cable insulation away from the actual steel cable exposing an inch or two of it. then holding the insulation and plastic housing with pliers, grab the steel cable itself with pliers and pull it to open the hood. then replace the cable. the further you can reach up under the panel the better your chances of getting past the broken part of the cable and avoid removing the grill. you might also be able to gain access from up under the car if you're lucky.

1996 dodge intrepid hood latch won't release

Very common problem with the dodges, look under your dash and you will see where the probably now broken cable use to connect. You can pull it by hand to release the hood, They are not hard to replace, just unbolt the handle unit and bolt in the new one. The cable usually just snaps into a holder on the bracket under the dash. Some if these vehicles came with the hood cable that goes all the way to the hood release latch under the hood if that is the case you can still open the hood you just have to do it from under the car in the front. Hope this helped

I have broken the cable on my hood release on my 1989 Buick Lesabre. Is there any way that I can open the hood from the outside?

if it broke at the dash, cut the cable housing down to get to the cable and pull on it with pliers,
if it broke at the latch you can still open it you will need two long skinny screwdrivers and patients

Hood latch cable is broke and hood is shut how do i open

This is the hard case for any hood broke the cable, if the broken part is under neith your dash board, near the handle, probably you can manage to pull the broke cable and try to open it. but if the broken part in the front hood, probably you have to take to the garage to fix it.

I had two cases like this when I had my Union 76 Services Station in N. Hollywood 80s, it is a headache problem.
