Mercedes c230 windshield wiper starts on its own

The windshield wiper sometimes starts on its own. Some days are worse than others. It's really annoying. Is there a quick fix for this?

Car has rain sensing windshield. Most likely you have the wiper on/off level in the intermittent position, which turns on the sensor. When the sensor detects moisture or even dust sometimes. It turns on wipers. Just make sure the wipers are off and not in the intermittent position.

Congratulations!! They're doing exactly what they're supposed to do unless its not raining. If it's not raining please disregard this answer and replace the wiper switch well let me answer this correctly make sure sensor at windshield is clean and dry, switch is in correct position if they are from experience of having done more than a handful of these cridders usually switch is worn out or broken just replace it probably the cheapest rout instead of having an electrical diag at a shop that repair order price could add $200 to. ??? On them just replacing the switch

Mercedes 2000 E20 shuts off on me why

Mercedes have a bad rep for low amp alternators. 70 amps in my 87 300e, not enough to run headlight, windshield wipers, AC, and high amp stereo at the same time on short trips. Really, worse than that. What I read was that many have switched to much higher amps in alternators, mostly from GM cars, up to 200 amps.

Check its wiring, there must be some sort short circuits. There is no other reason other than this.

Windshield wiper fluid won't squirt

When you pull the lever to activate the windshield washers, do you hear any type of sound coming from under the hood?  A whirring sound should be heard from the little electric pump that feds the washers.
If you can hear the whir, then you should look for a possible clog in the washer hoses (there is more than one...).
If you cannot hear the whirr, then you should check the fuse that protects the windshield washer circuit.  Check your owner's manual for the location and correct amperage for this circuit.
Good luck!

Ballpark price on 2007 Mercedes Benz C230 Maintenance B

The dealer near me charges $365 for a 4-cyl, $395 for a 6/8 cyl, or $425 for a 12-cyl. The only actual repair/maintenance you get for that price is an oil change (with Mobil1 and the MB filter, which are CRITICAL, ~$120 on its own) and tire rotation. This makes a lot of people think it's a scam, but really, it's a little steep, but definitely worth doing. The rest of the service consists of a massive inspection of your vehicle covering the following items.

-- Fluid levels
-- Tire tread/pressure/wheel condition
-- Air filter (inc. clean out housing)
-- Cabin air filter (inc. clean out housing)
-- Lubricate sunroof rails, locks, hinges, and seals on body.
-- Drive belt and tensioner
-- HVAC system operation
-- Instruments, cruise control
-- Wipers/washers/lights/horn
-- Windows/sunroof operation
-- Hoses
-- Transmission fluid
-- Brakes
-- Chassis/suspension
-- Driveshaft, inc. flex discs
-- Road test
-- Reset maintenance light

This is actually pretty essential to do, despite seeming like a lot of money for not much work. I have very rarely done one without catching a few things that the customer needs, and often it was a problem that would have gotten far worse had it been left to its own.

Windshield wiper of 1987 300E

Hello, Spray some wd-40 etc at the joint that the wiper blade pivots on and then work it back and forth. Sometimes you really have to push harder than you thought it could stand.
I hope this helps.
