SOURCE: Change Engine Air Filter in 1999 Buick Century

Well you didn't say what engine is in it so,I'll wing it. Assuming it's a v6, the airbox is located in the front, probably driver side. Remove the 4 or 5 wing nuts or Phillips head screws. Gently but firmly lift the top housing & slide the old filter out. Put the new one in,making sure it's in the same way as the old one came out. It can't go in upside down anyway but I'm being specific. Re-install the housing & done!!

SOURCE: Have a leak under passenger side dash when it rains. I think the door under the cabin air filter isnt closing is it an easy fix

Having just repaired this problem in a 1998 Buick Regal, I can tell you that fixing the water leak is actually quite easy. It took me quite a while to track down the source of water, but I have discovered that it comes through the cabin air filter. There is a seal on the passenger side of the cowl (A two piece unit, black plastic, against the windshield) that seals it to the windshield to prevent water infiltration. It is very small and somewhat hard to miss. I took the cowl off to change the filter when I discovered this.

You can make a diverter to go over the air filter under the cowl, or even easier is to use some clear RTV silicone (avalible at any automotive and most hardware stores) and put a good bead on the old seal. When you re-install the plastic cowl, be carefull where it goes against the windshield to make sure you don't "smear" the silicone. After you re-install the plastic retainer hardware, smooth out the bead and clean up the excess silicone(a wet finger and some old cardboard works great). Let it dry and clean up the water in the passenger compartment.

Cleaning up the water is the hard part. Removing the plastic trim around the door (if you grasp the trip peices firmly they just pull up off some metal clips, but they can be quite stubborn) you will notice the carpet just pulls up. At the bottom front corner of the front doors the carpet has a plastic hook that is around one of the trim clips. Lift it off that and the rest of the carpet towards the firewall just pulls up. If it has been a long problem, your carpet may be moldy. Also, the carpet edges and some of the more hidden panel clips are very sharp and may cut you while you are poking around, so be carefull.

Since the water entered through the air filter and right over the fan, you will at minimum want to replace the filter. I had mold and moss growing on mine. My fan also squeels and chirps now, so I know it got wet. Not much to do about that but replace it or carefully lubricate the motor.

In your question you mentioned a door underneath the filter not closing. On my '98 Buick Regal there is no door or valve of any sort. The filter sits right above the fan blades. It is the cowel's job to prevent water from entering this part of the vehicle. I hope this helps you fix your problem.

Just to the right and above the accelerator pedal you need to remove the left sound insulator panel. Then remove the filter access cover by pushing down and then pulling out. It kinda pops off. Remove the tape on the first filter and then remove the filter by pulling the filter tab. Remove the tape on the second filter and then remove second filter by pulling the filter tab. Remove the third filter by pulling the filter tab. I know you didn't ask about all that but just in case you wanted to replace them.

Where is the cabin filter on a 2003 honda odysseey

The cabin filter is located behind the glovebox.
First lower and remove the glovebox
If it has not been changed before, you will need to cut the plastic crossbrace behind the glovebox.
Once out of the way, unbolt the steel reinforcing frame behind the plastic and set it aside.
The cabin filter is mounted vertically behind it.

Where is the cabin air filter of 2005 Odyssey located and how can the cabin filter be changed.

I have a factory manual for 1999-2004 but I believe the filter is in the same location on a 2005. First, you have to remove the glove box. It's a straight forward process with a phillips head screwdriver and a 10mm socket. The filter is in the middle of the black plastic air handler behind the glove box. It is in a vertical slot covered by a narrow "door" with clips on top and bottom. If it has never been changed before, you will have to cut out the horizontal plastic cross brace that kept the dash assembly from warping during manufacture. Cut with a hack saw at each end of the plastic brace and remove it. You'll notice a metal cross brace that can be removed with screws at each end. Once the braces are removed, it is easy to unclip the filter door and replace the filter. Then just put everything back except the plastic cross brace you removed; it can be thrown out.

Change cabin air filter in 2006 Acura MDX

You cut the cross bar away with some diagonals and throw it away. It is just an assembly aid when they are putting the car together. Google "DIY MDX cabin air filter" and you will find step by step procedures with photos for changing the filter. It is not a difficult job.
