Search 2004 A8 phone. You'll find a few threads. Depending on what the problem is, you might find a solution. I spent 6 months trying to get the bluetooth puck to work and it turned out to be a few computer codes that needed to be changed.

SOURCE: 1997 Audi A8 Will not start after disconnecting battery

You may have a DBW (drive by wire) car. If so, reconnect the battery and then turn the key on (don't start the car though). Do this with the hood open. Turn the key and then see if you have a high-pitched whining hum from the engine bay. If so, that's likely the throttle body readjusting its position. This can make a big difference in driveability, and is worth a shot. If the 97 didn't have DBW, you won't harm anything in trying it out.

SOURCE: water leaking in my audi a8

There should be a drain hole or tube that leads out of the car. Find it and clean it out. (wet/dry shop vac?)
Don't poke too sharp of things into it, or you might damage something, though.

2020 Chevy Tahoe Z71. Do I need to replace my airbag module?

Question edited for clarity, 'year make model' first.

This is one job, I would not do myself. The airbags are extremely dangerous if they go off, even if just reconnecting the battery. I would replace the impact sensors. Not sure if they are resettable, but I would replace anyway.

Often, having the sensors reset and recalibrated is adequate. However, when the airbag does deploy, there's more to do than just replace the airbag.

I hit a deer and airbag didn't deploy but airbag light is on. I did smell a burning smell that the owners manual said would accompany airbag deployment. Could my airbags pop out at any moment and is it...

Are you sure the smell was not deer meat on the radiator?
No one can honestly say its safe to drive and that an airbag won't suddenly deploy. Best thing to do is have it scanned to see why the light is on. Most shops will have a scanner that should work for this (save you the high cost of a dealer). The light may just be on because there is crash data stored in the SRS module and it may need be replaced.

Front impact crash & airbag did not diploy

Airbags have specific criteria for deployment that determines whether impact was severe enough to deploy bags or whether only 1 stage deployment is needed or may decide impact was minor enough that deployment of airbags could potentially be more dangerous than the actual impact. For instance I was on the expressway last year going 65mph and someone rear ended me at over 100mph. Totaled my Ford Focus, her airbag did not deploy. Over certain speeds depending on the vehicle calibration, and airbag should never deploy. With an impact under a designated speed or over a designated speed a deployment can be dangerous. As long as your airbag light was not on before the crash I'd say your system was working properly and did not malfunction. If your airbag light ever comes on just keep in mind that any airbag malfunction will disable the system and turn on the light

Airbag light recently came on? 2004 hyundai tiburon

It should come on when you first start the car, then go off after a few seconds (to show that the lamp is working). If it stays on, you have a problem somewhere in the system. It could be the sensor behind the front bumper, it could be a loose wire or bad connection to the airbag itself. You need to take this to your dealer (or other trusted repair shop) and have it repaired, this is not a do-it-yourself job. If the repairs are not done correctly, it could cause the airbag to deploy when it should not (causing much damage) or not deploy when it should (adding to your injuries in a crash.) The lamp indicates that the airbag will (most likely) not deploy in a collision.

Airbag locations

In the steering wheel and passenger side dash.Due to the age of the vehicle probably doesn't have the curtain "side" airbags. The airbags were designed primarily for head on collisions. Here is some useful information to why the may have not deployed courtesy of http://www.asashop.org/autoinc/dec2001/collision.htm
How Air Bags Work To have a frontal (driver or passenger) air bag deploy, certain criteria must be met. One of these criteria is that the frontal impact must be within a 60-degree window, occurring within 30 degrees from the vehicle's centerline. Another key element is that the crash forces are equivalent to a head-on collision with an immovable barrier at 10-15 miles per hour. Because a typical automobile accident only lasts about 0.125 (1/8th) of a second, air bags deploy within 15 to 20ms after the initial crash impact. To create a protective cushion between the occupant and the vehicle's interior, the air bag inflates at speeds up to 200 mph within approximately 30ms after impact. This allows the occupant to contact a fully inflated bag within approximately 45 to 50ms after the initial crash impact. Approximately 100ms after impact the bag deflates.

Where are the airbag sensors on a 2002 Malibu? Daughter ran off road, hit ditch & did damage to right front from headlight down....both airbags deployed...is that normal?

Hi, the impact sensors for the air bags are usually located between the headlights more or less at the lowest point of the headlights. It is possible that the air bags will deploy as the impact sensors work with vibration. If the vibration is big enough to activate the sensor the air bags will deploy.
