Sounds to me like the brake light circuit is interfering with the taillight circuit. My guess is a bad ground connection for the taillight bulb or brake light bulb.

who changed the ECU, you, or shop, was the ECU programed for your car or was plugged in and start. most likely it need to be programed and apdated.
