We have a 2008 Dodge Avenger with electric windows. The window came lowered itself about half way. When the window is closed with atomatically it raises completely, the pauses and opens again half way. The window can be fully closed by tapping the window switch repeatedly. I belive it has something to do with the auto-pinch setting but do not know how to reset it. Any suggestions?
Sound like the "auto-pinch" sensor in the motor/drive assembly has become too sensetive

U will need to lube the window glass guides, to do this u will need a can of Silicone spray lube, if this doesn't clear the problem u will need to replace the window motor..

Sounds like u have a bad window regulator which is a system of channels and guide wires that move the window up & down. since i do not know the whole situation I would make sure the window channels are lubricated with silicone spray to make sure the window is not being held up on anything.

To reset your maintenance reminder system (even if the light hasn’t come on yet), you’ll need to turn your key to on (but don’t start!) and make sure your odometer is on TRIP A. Then key off. Press and hold the Odometer/Trip button. While holding down on the button, key the ignition to on (Don’t start the engine!) The display panel will count down from “------“ to “-“Continue pressing the button until the Trip A is displayed. After this step, you are done.
