Brake problems 95 jeep

There is something teribly wrong with my front right brake .. when i press on the brake it makes a loud grinding noise so bad i stoped driveing it .. i looked at it and it seems the brake calipers are kind of sticking out and digging into the rim itself, creating a grove in solid steel .. im hopeing its just a bolt thats missing or something i could do myself .. please help .. brakes still work perfectly fine but the end of the caliper seems like its not in the right place or something like that

You may have a broken bolt. Once I saw a broken brake caliper bolt and when the brakes were applied the caliper shifted up and ground into the rim just like your seeing...just take the wheel off and investigate its not that hard.

2004 jeep grand charokee grinding noise when

ok, think about mass that moves under the forces of braking, things like engines and gearboxes, have you checked all those mounts for integrity, have a look to see if anything has been rubbing, new shiney spots appearing that weren't there before.

95 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo Making grinding Noise

It sounds as if your rotors are either out of round and warped or that there is a lot of rust in there and perhaps changing the pads/shoes and having the rotors changed entiorely as they usually cost less to buy replacements as opposed to having them turned, plust then you will have about 70% brand new brakes in the front, the shoes and the drums aren't as finicky but still shouldn't have excessive pitting on the drums and the shoes should have at least 5/32 of meat left on the shoe, 3/32 is the lowest for safety concerns but they are about a 1/4" thick when they are new, so if the drums aren't bad, take some emery cloth (220) and lightly clean up any rust by rotatign the emery cloth in circles around the inside of the drum to clean out the rus and then wipe clean with a rust remover and then clena the whole mess with brake cleaner, this should if there was anything that was rough and making noise smooth out and hopefully eliminate your excessive noise problem

I hear a loud ratteling noise coming from where

The rattle is likely a loose shield or a bad catalytic converter. As for the loud banging, Have you checked the front U-joints behind the brake rotors. As for the Reverse noise? Auto or stick shift?

Rumbling & grinding under front end

Watch out! You might have a loose wheel! Check those wheel nuts. If not, a loose brake caliper, or last if not least, a bad wheel bearing. Don't drive it until you find out what the heck is wrong! Could be dangerous.
