Can you do me a favor just unplug the abs module lead, and check that part first then get back to me on here. it is very rare that an abs sensor fails. its always down to the wiring plugs. and a car wash will throw the water in the engine bay, not like road water and any seal that are weak or cracked will be the first problem. plus engine dieing is a good sing the abs unit is not working at all. bad part is if the unit is not completely damaged. if the engine starts without the abs plugged in. but will not when its plugged in. can be a problem with the abs control unit board.

It sounds like you might be having a problem with your Electronic control module. Are the only codes coming up just for the sensor? Have you recently cleaned your engine or driven in very wet weather? If so, water could have gotten into your connections at the modules and causing odd codes. I hope this helps. Jay

Yes, there are several causes for that - no, none involves a reset. It's possible that it's the Servotronic sensor on the gearbox (the one that adjusts the pressure in the servo's oil circuit), it's also possible that it's the wiring for the BCM - the groundings on the passenger side headlight get corroded quite easily. But both of them would have been detected and reported as faults - you don't have any.
So the steering went stiff because the servo unit itself failed. Try first to replace the oil (it might have been contaminated by the water and the pump no longer moves it): secure the rear wheels and lift the front ones , take off the cap from the oil tank, go below the car and unbolt the lower oil pressure hose that goes in the steering rack. Turn the steering wheel several times from side to side, fully, to evacuate all the oil then reattach the hose, refill the circuit, start the motor and rotate the wheel again
from side to side, fully - top the tank while doing it.
If the steering doesn't light up after that then either the pump or the rack have failed and they will have to be replaced. This is how you replace the pump

For the rack you will probably have to visit a specialized shop, not necessarily a dealer.
