these links can assist you the C0242 code is set due to the P2135 code the C0242 is set due to the computer not being able to perfomr traction control due to the P2135 code
repairing the P2135 code will correct the C0242 code
the P2135 is saying the computer sees the 2 throttle position sensors built into the throttle body do not match
this is usually cause by one of 2 things
1 ) the connection at the throttle body or possible terminal crimps inside the connector have bad connections
2 ) the throttle body itself has an internal failure
the best action to take is to pick up a tube of dielectric grease sold at most local auto parts stores and disconnect the connector at the throttle body and pack the connector with the grease then plug it back in and clear the codes and see if the problem goes away
if the problem comes back replace the throttle body connector sold at most dealers and shrink wrap in the new connector to the existing wires one at a time
if the problem still does not go away then replace the throttle body https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/p2135-obd-ii-trouble-code-throttle-pedal-position-sensor-switch-a-b-voltage-correlation-by-blake-griffin https://www.engine-codes.com/c0242.html
check you throttle body you can see on good scan tool
the opening and closing for both throttle and the paddle
most of the time it is the throttle body see if this help
You may want to check with the dealer or do some internet research on the code - - the generic code means there is a problem with the throttle position switch circuit. It could be different for a Mercury product.
should not have to pay for same part twice.take vechicle back to dealership tell them car not fixed you have same problem.let them know you payed them to fix car.same problem still exist.code p2135 problem could be the tps sensor or signal circuit to sensor wires and connector have a short or problem could be throttle body assembly damaged.
DTC P0120 P0220 P1516 P2135 these should be the problem codes. 2003-2006 Chevrolet Avalanche, Corvette, Express, Monte Carlo, Silverado, SSR, Suburban, Tahoe, Trailblazer. for reduced engine power. p0120 is throttle position sensor, ( tps ). p0220 is relates to tps, p1516 tps is out of range. p2135 is a throttle body code, the throttle body needs replaced. but before you do it replace tps first to see if it takes care of the other codes. have a good day !!
Thats a throttle body code p2135 that and p2101 unfortanatly are saying that the whole throttle body needs to be replaced do to an electronic malfuntion that is not a serviceable part or sensor.
The code you give is for a throttle position sensor (TPS), and its voltage is incorrect. This can be a loose connection at the sensor or a the sensor needs cleaning. Clean the throttle body by spraying cleaner on a rag and wipping down, even a little bit of dirt will affect your performance. Due to the construction of this style of throttle body it is highly recomended to not spray with cleaner, just wipe down.
P2135 is a throttle position code. If it is popping through the intake that is an indication that it is lean ( not enough fuel) I would risk the cost of a Throttle position sensor and replace it.
04 chev 2500hd 6liter gives code p2135 replaced pedal pos. sensor still giving code only does when goes to high rpm when goes in passing gear volts drop and goes to reduced engine power
