SOURCE: Chevy venture 2004 Transmission

Bring to tranny shop or repair shop, have it scanned for trouble codes, many electrical parts and solonoids in those trannys, possible it may just be a shift solonoid bad or needs adjustment, much cheaper than replacing tranny. good luck!

2010 Chevy Aveo 5. What do I need to do to get front broken lug studs off? No clearance and put the new ones on.

There are some videos here that might help. Fortunately they are pressed into place. A garage would have a press and perhaps charge you 10 bucks. Or give a good soak on WD40 and bang the broken stud out with a lump hammer and a punch held in pliers. The hub needs to come off first.

2007 Chevy Aveo check engine light came on, code P2188, whats it mean?

P2188 System Too Rich at Idle (Bank 1) On a Chevy Aveo I have heard 2 different things that cause this code, 1. Check for any vacuum leaks in the intake , and 2. Check for oil bypass in the cylinders, Personally I don't know which is correct , But figured I could give you an area to check , Good Luck

Engine will die

There is a Communication problem between the Transmission Control Module (TCM) and the Engine control module. That is the bad news and is why it's shutting down the engine.
The good news is i believe there is a TSB recall on the 2004 - 2007 chevy aveo for the P0700 problem so it should be covered under warranty.
Believe the TSB# 05-06-01-030D
Good luck and hope this helps and hope it's not a bad ECM. Check the wire harness to the ECM and TCM, look for broken wire or the harness it self gone apart.

Idler is too high on start-up, goes up to 2.5-3 rpm. and comes back to normal. just started a week ago. what could be the problem? 2005 Chevy Aveo

I bought my 2004 aveo 49 miles. I've had several issues with the car. But recently I been experiencung high idle at start up and clutching. I change IAC. Plugs and wireds. Nothing worked. Today the high idle became constant. It was a metal bubble flex tube near the IAC unit that goes to the exhaust stuff down behind the motor. It apparently was cracked cause today it broke causing the constant high idle sound like a vacumn. We blocked it off with a stick to get the idle back down to 900 rpm instead of 3-4000 rpm took we can get to auto zone for high temp hose per Chevy dealer. I hope this helps someone cause it was fustrating and costly.

Chevy Aveo - Lousy Fuel Milage, From 33+hwy to 19mpg

try giving your car a simple service, change oil, oil filter, air filter, plugs and leads etc. also get your wheels aligned and balanced as having bad geo can also be bad for fuel consumption. if that doesnt work then id recomend a garage.

2004 Aveo Unknown will not start

Daughters 2004 Aveo stopped dead on freeway. Plastic thermostat on engine and melted off. Chevy said it blew the engine, searched on line and found 17 pages of same complaint. Chevy repaired car for free. Still not worth the worry. But if this is your problem, fight it don't pay for repairs!
