this is confusing. (usa car?)
is this a FOB panic button question?????
did you try both FOBS as came with the new car?
did you lose the glove box, operators guide.
it covers this. and the panic was new in 2005 ,
a new feature.
suzuki will send you the lost book for free, call them.

is defeat-able, all mine are, hate it.
having it go off in pocket is a pain.(max pain)

so I kill all mine, as many do. (1 of 2 ways)
some cars you can program it to go off
the operators guide covers that,

does car drive perfectly day and night?
does alarm work as it should, otherwise?

i see only extra key programming
there,
not defeating features.
in that case, i hack the fob by killing the panic button with a button block hack, I use plastic film
under the switch button, (can be regressed)

i use mylar plastic strip.
that i can regress later, if sell car.
no glue, no damage.
if scared buy a new FOB , program it.
then take old one and hack it. brave,, you are now.

Remote can be matched manually

don't have 2 fobs?
it cam with 2,
and the battery must be good.(for buttons to work on fob)
never run any car with only 1 fob or one key.
or get locked out.
are you saying the metal cut key end (pure mechanical ) failed?

my car has a real key with a a transponder inside .
it can open 2 ways, the keyfob buttons, (takes a good battery)
and the key metal end.

get a spare fob and program it.

most newer vehicles will not lock the door with the keys in the ignition and/or the keyless start remote fob in the vehicle. Vitara has a small button on the handle that will unlock the door if you have the fob in your pocket if the fob is in the car it can"t be secured since it is set up to unlock when the fob is within a couple feet of the vehicle. I know this is a late post for your question maybe it will help others

try this...

1. Make sure vehicle is in Park
2. Press Vehicle Information button (has the icon of a car and an 'i')until 'PRESS *check mark* TO RELEARN REMOTE KEY' displays.
3. Press set/reset button. The message 'REMOTE KEY LEARNING ACTIVE' will display.
4. Press and hold the lock and unlock buttons on the transmitter at the same time for about 15 seconds. A beep will sound indicating that the transmitter is matched.
5. To match additional transmitters at this time, repeat Step 3. Each vehicle can have a maximum of four transmitters matched to it.
6. To exit the program mode, you must cycle the key to LOCK.

Yes your vehicle comes with keyless entry, I would request the dealership that you bought it from give you the code or program thefob for you cause dealerships charge a arm and leg to program them.

In the center console there is a Driver Information Center buttons that you use to find the program fobs and follow the steps. Just have to press the button on one then the other. i know in the suzuki garnd vitara its in the manual

Not 100% sure about Suzukis but on my ford the same happened to me and I had to program them at the same time. Hopefully this helps.
