Anti theft lock turn off

My car was at the shop and they some how locked the car where music and my radio will no longer work. And they tried guessing the max amount of codes. My car has been locked for ten days and every time i hit a button it just says error. Is there anyway I could reset it?

SOURCE: 1997 ES 300 How to reset anti-theft system when car won't start

With the doors shut, insert the key into the drivers door lock. Lock and unlock the door 5 times. This should reset the system. If that doesn't work you should contact a qualified repair shop.

SOURCE: 1998 nissan altima gxe -ignition problem

Hi what is happening is that your turn off your car and left the wheels turned to one side and specially if your car is parke in a hill what you have to do is to force the steering wheel to the same direction of your wheels this will free up the ignition switch it is going to be hard let me tell you but it will work and this is why your shift don't work once you have the ignition switch free then your shift will work again

SOURCE: need radio code for 2001 honda accord lx

*** Please click the "Was this helpful" Yes thumbs up! ***

FREE and EASY methods to get your Honda radio UNLOCK CODE. (Dealerships usually charge)

Assuming you don't have the Anti-Theft Code and Serial Number that is found on the credit card sized Anti-Theft Radio Identification Card that comes with the vehicle at the time of purchase and is usually found in the glove compartment....

You have FREE options to retrieve that code by phone or on the internet BUT, the RADIO SERIAL NUMBER is REQUIRED (no matter what). (see bottom about removing ERROR E3)

***IF your Honda was made BEFORE 2001 the serial number MAY not be accessible without removing the radio from the vehicle.***

* TO GET THE SERIAL NUMBER (so that you can get the unlock code)

1. Get something to write with and on (you'll need it to write down the serial number)
2. Put the ingnition key in and turn it until your able to turn your radio on (accessories position).
3. Then turn your radio OFF by it's knob/button (but leave the ingition key in place).
4. Hold down the preset buttons 1 and 6 at the same time.
5. Turn the radio on while pressing down both the 1 and 6 buttons.(***IF your Honda doesn't have preset buttons on the radio then hold down the top part of the 'Seek/Skip' button AND the top part of the 'Change Disk' button instead.*** )
6. Write down the 4 numbers you see first and then 4 more that display. These eight numbers are the SERIAL NUMBER. This is NOT your CODE.
7. Make sure your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) is handy to get the unlock code. (can be found on your insurance card, driver's side door jam, small plate on dashboard by registration and inspection stickers, etc)

* TO GET THE UNLOCK CODE (using the radio Serial Number and VIN)

---Internet option:

1. Go to https://radio-navicode.honda.com/ (YES, it's run BY HONDA and IT'S FREE)
2. Follow on screen instructions (Serial Number and VIN required)
3. Type in the 5 digit code into your radio. This will unlock the radio and return it to a functional state.

-OR-

---Telephone option:

1. Call American Honda Customer Relations (800) 999-1009
2. When the automated message starts 'Press 3' for 'Radio and Navigation Codes'.
3. Tell the Customer Service Agent you need your radio code. (They will ask for your name, your radio's serial number, VIN, etc)
4. When they give you your radio unlock code--WRITE IT DOWN and KEEP IT SAFE!
5. Type in the 5 digit code into your radio. This will unlock the radio and return it to a functional state.

* REMOVING ERROR E3

****If you entered too many wrong codes and got an ERROR E3 message displaying you'll need to do an additional step for even the correct unlock code to work.****

Disconnect your negative battery terminal (or pull the radio fuse out if that's easier for you) for 30 seconds then reconnect it and then the radio will say "CODE" again and you can put in your correct unlock code.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So what happened to begin with?

If the power from your battery to the Honda radio is interrupted the Anti-Theft feature kicks in, the radio is rendered inoperable and the screen reads 'CODE'. You must enter in the Anti-Theft Radio Unlock Code (usually 5 digits) to make it operational again. You know that much by now.

2001 pt cruiser how to get it out of theft lock all the lights work radio works it just wont crank over

Step 1: Check for the anti-theft light. It's located on your dash and will have a blue or red light.
Step 2: Turn the ignition to the "on" position. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the on position, which activates your accessories but not the engine.
Leave the key in position for about 10 - 15 minutes.
Step 3: Check the anti-theft light again. If it's no longer blinking, turn the key back to the Off position and allow it to set for a minute or two.
This gives the system time to reset or you won't be able to start your car.
Step 4: Start the engine. Attempt to start your engine.
If it still won't start, check to make sure the battery hasn't been drained.
Step 5: Repeat the process. Try the process over again to see if it will work.
Check your key fob battery. A car's anti-theft system may activate if your key fob battery is dead and hasn't disabled the system.
Make sure the battery is installed correctly in your key fob. If the battery is correctly installed, replace it with a fresh battery

Just bought a used truck it is a 1995 full size chevrolet it has a theft lock radio but does not work, the radio will not show any display not loc r lock there is a button u push it will show u the time...

If the clock will display for a few seconds that means it,(the clock) has power, and perhaps the entire unit. However, if the anti-theft is engaged, a dealer will be in your future. It will take them about a minute to un-lock the radio, or they will know if the radio no longer works.

I just purchased a 94 740il. The radio was locked out so I got the unlock code. It took me 4 tries to put code in right. Now the radio turns on but all i get is a low squelch. it is constant and does not...

Most likely your antennae wire popped off the radio. Anti-theft usually locks you out after a 3rd time of entering the wrong code. Then you have to leave power off to it for a day and try again.

My battery died in my 2001 volvo and the radio is locked. I tried a couple of codes as suggested by the local body shop. Now it's locked and won't let me try another code. Any help?

hi i am afraid that your radio has now been disabled completely, you only have 3 tries at putting in the code, if you do not input the correct code this will disable the radio indefinitely as this is an anti theft thing, and renders it u/s to the thief, as far as i can recall you cannot get it to work now as it would have de-coded a chip in the radio when the wrong code was entered ime sorry to say you will have to purchase a new one, please if you are told to put it in a plastic bag and put it in the freezer overnight, do not do it, it does not work and will just cause condensation in the radio itself and you could short out wiring in your vehicle if plugged back into it...sorry its not much help, but these days the radios are more complicated and sophisticated for anti theft...

to turn off the theft system, all you have to do is put the key in the door lock and lock and unlock the door, this shuts down the anti theft system, now this has nothing to do with the radio, the only way the radio would ask for the code is if it was removed or the battery unhooked, anyway try the unlocking of the door even try the passenger door, hope this helps.
