SOURCE: what oil for my 1995 Subaru Legacy 250T?

I know I will get some argument on this one, but regardless of what manufacturers recommend, the best possible lubricant is a good synthetic. They far exceed any manufacturers needs in both lubricity long life and resistance to thermal changes. they do not burn off or form deposits readily and work in any temperature climate. as far as rating, a 10-40 or 50 works for everything. With synthetics those #s are almost a decoration on the can because in reality they cover a far larger span. Personally I would not use mobil1 (too much additive package not enough real stuff) on the other end, amsoil is one of the best (they even offer a 0w50 oil)
Whatever you use make sure you keep it clean. A good oil filter is essential and if extending oil change intervals, you can just change filter and any oil lost.
I know I've ranted, but the actual lab testing results and notes I've made over the years is far longer!
good luck whatever you decide on!

SOURCE: 1997 subaru legacy 2.5l coolant leaking from

Known head gasket problems on those cars. Suburu dealership have a good product called stop leak. Use that first add a bottle into the radiator run the car to operating temp. Recheck the belly pan for leaks. hope this helps.

SOURCE: how to repair front exhaust leak subaru legacy

solution depends on exact cause of the leak. In general, patches, wraps or other glue type repairs don't work anywhere ahead of the cat or muffler. Pressure and temp is too high there. Pipe repairs can be done by welding but usually that is just as expensive as parts unless leak is in a easy location to get to. So, best and most reliable repair is to replace whatever has leak.

How do I drain the oil out of my 2002 beetle

Pull oil dipstick. Remove the drain plug from the oil pan. Once that is empty replace plug. Then remove oil filter. Replace filter by filling new one half full with oil and smearing clean oil around the rubber seal on the filter. Reinstall and fill with engine with appropriate amount of oil. Confirm oil level on dipstick. Start engine and monitor oil pre and check for leaks. Recycle used oil and dispose of filter properly.

Hi i recently purchased a 2004 subaru legacy station wagon. There is a weird smell coming out of t he front hood. it steams out and there is no leakage anywhere. The smells is like burning food.

Could be a water pump leaking, and
then the hot engine burns off the coolant
which you smell, thus you see no leak
Check the radiator and canister bottle

95 Subaru legacy wagon manual transmission fluid

The dipstick has a black plastic handle in the shape of ring of about 1 inch in diameter. It is located on the left side of the engine (looking from front) behind the spark plugs. Best visible from the passenger side fender location (start looking from the left part of the transmission , the black handle clearly stands out on the white metal).

Really it all depends on where you take it.Get a few different estimates before you commit to have them do it..An by meaning sump I'm figuring the oil pan.Price range is around 150.00 to 300.00 Thats why it depends on where you take it because they all ways under cut there prices to get the job.Its really not that big of a job and be sure thats where the leak is coming from before you say fix it..

Oil change

To drain the oil - all you have to do is remove the small (about 4" x 5") plastic rectangular cover which is situated towards the rear of the "plastic tray". It is secured by one hex head screw (about 8mm I think). This reveals the sump plug (hex head 17mm) on the side of the sump. Make sure you have a good big drip tray underneath as, due to the sump plug facing sideways, when the oil first runs out it shoots way over towards the side of the car. I found this to my cost the first time as I had positioned a container underneath the sump drain hole and the oil shot horizontally over the top of it and poured all over my driveway. Re the second half of your question, sorry - I dont know anything about the oil level sensor.
