Ran out of gas while it was warming up , I put gas back in it and turned the key a few time still wont start up

you haven't mentioned what make or model of vehicle
you will have to check that the pump is actually working as some fuel pumps have small plastic gears as the pump and when run out of fuel these gears have no lubrication and so melt in the case

Car wont start

It is very bad to let your car run out of gas. You may need to give it exessive amount of gas when starting it.
