Is250 2008 cvc light is on what does that mean?

cv axles have a distinct click when turning corners at slow speed when they are on the way out
if bad they will produce a harmonic vibration or a hum

There are parts on the brake pads called squeeler clips. These are for making an audible noise to warn you that the front brake pad is very close to failing. It means you are about to damage the front Rotor and are close to losing the front brake for stopping purposes.

The second possibility is the front axle bearing or CVC joint is failing.

Motor mount or CVC joints.
CVC joints can be ckecked by trying to see if there is any ratteling or excessive movement in the whole housing while trying to shake it vigorously.
Motor mounts need to be inspected for cracks or tears in the rubber areas of the mounting.
Also look for loose exhaust system parts by trying to shake the exhaust.

If the CVC joint is broken, the car would not move. I assume that you are hearing unusual noises in the drivetrain. It is worthwhile to have a certified mechanic take a look at the car to determine if the CVC needs to be replaced, before serious problems develop.

It sounds like your cvc shaft is starting to wear out, usually when the cvc joint starts to go then you hear a clicking noise as you are turning.

Hello, I as a professional would say the safest thing would be to have it towed. If the joint has not been distroyed to the point of falling apart then you could possible push it by hand if the inboard joint is bad and not the outboard joint next to the wheel. With the outboard broken there is a very strong posibility the if you tried to make a turn even by pushing the joint will just lock up completely and you will not be able to push the vehicle past that point. You also take a chance of causing additional damage to the vehicle if the assembly comes apart completely. The outboard CVC joint is more dangerous than the inboard since the outboard is in a percision location to allow turning. Good Luck, RAC

you first must remove the shaft, then disassemble it, disassembly is done by turning the joint full in one direction and using a brass punch driving the joint off the end, once off you'll need to clean everything, then relube the joint, put on new boot, then re-assemble and re-install.

If this sounds to complicated, you can buy a remanufactured shaft which comes with both joint ends from autozone and just replace the shaft

Yes. You will not be able to get the motor out unless you remove the axle

The same way you took it off, pull the bolt to seperate the lower control arm from the strut and move the lower arm out the way wit a pry bar on reinstall to make life easyer, also use a hellolot of power lube or wd40 on all bolts n nuts so you dont round any like i did on my first few trying to be a fast guy.
