2001 mitsubishi galant has no heat inside, runs hot the top hose is hot but lower hose is cold. have changed thermostat twice. antifreeze has also been changed twice

before u add water in ur radiator make sure u start ur engine and remove ur radiator cap and pour water to it when u see there is no more air in ur radiator u can close it and it will work good
SOURCE: heating problem
If you changed the thermostat yourself and have noted that the lower radiator hose is cooler than the upper radiator hose, you may have installed the thermostat incorrectly or have purchased a faulty thermostat. A lower radiator hose that does not get hot (or as hot as the upper radiator hose) is a direct indication of a faulty thermostat. Please vote for this solution if you found this to be helpful. Thanks,

You didn't list the year or engine size, but I believe your problem is the heater control valve. It is supposed to open and close to allow the hot coolant into the heater core when you switch the heat on. It will stick closed when it fails. It is located in the heater hose line, should be about $20 -$30 part.

Why was radiator replaced?Did it have heat before ? If it was plugged, the heater core may also be plugged. Try flushing it with a water hose in both directions. I dont know why the botton radiator hose would be cold, the radiator should be a uniform temp and the air coming through the radiator should be HOT, when the engine is at operating temp. What condition was the old coolant? if it was rusty, the water pump may have lower flow than normal.

2003 Mitsubishi Montero Limited. 97k miles. Temp gauge is erratic when actual temp is normal. How do I fix this?
