It should be on the drivers side and it looks like the oil dipstick. Usually the top of the handle is shaped like a " T ". Most of the time it will be yellow and say trans on it. It may be lower than the oil dipstick. Good luck.

What caus upon acceleratione my 2004 saturn ion occasionally slip out of gear at a stop then it will jump back in gear upon acceleration

Check your transmission fluid level. It may not be possible for the average owner to do this, as Saturn transmissions are made to he used for 100,000 miles, then serviced for another 100,000.
So they don't have a dipstick .
If you have had any leaks under it, it most likely is low .

How do i check the transmission fluid in my 2004 Saturn ION ?

should not need to check it, but there is a level bolt on the side, you need to have the vehicle on level ramps to check it. they are hard to get undone.

How do I find the transmision filler cap on my 2004 Saturn ion?

Hi!!
You add transmission fluid thru the dipstick tube. You'll need a small funnel for that. If level is below normal, add fluid a little at the time, DO NOT OVERFILL.

DEXRON® VI Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF)

The transmission in 05 that one has a filter and takes close to 7 quarts. It has a level hole, no dipstick. You fill it idling in park till it just starts to come out of the level hole.
