Speedometer is jumping around

The speedometer on my 1991 Lumina seems OK I'm going 35 mph or less and it's cool, when it warms up and you speed up it bounces all over the place or shows around 10 mph if you're going around 55. Thanks.

    replaced speed senor,speedometer dial bounces at 60 mph

The speedometer cable needs lubricating. It can be removed from the bottom where it connects to transmission, coated with graphite and reinstalled.

Scan the vehicle for fault codes first. Sounds like you need to check the vehicle speed sensor signal into the speedometer. If that is ok then send the speedo head out for repair.

Fluctuating Speedometer
The speed senser is mounted on the transmission. This device is an slocrto magnatic motor and they cost less than $100 there held in with one bolt and have an electrical connector. Many times if it's bad enough the check engine light will come on. This problem but the heating up but work OK cild is a good chance the senser has failed..
