I have a Peugeot 307 Rapier 1.6 on a 52 plate. I have had an ongoing problem with knocking on the passenger side front wheel and then the ABS fault light comes on. As it appears to be an expensive fault to fix I have not had it checked yet. In addition my STOP light flashed a couple of days ago and the LCD display showed brake problem but it has not done it since!! As Peugeot garage has already told me that it will £50 just to find out what the issue is, please can you give me an indication of the problem and the cost to fix it. Front disc and pads were changed just over a year ago.
I has a clicking/knocking noise on one of my 407 (54 plate) front wheels after a change of brake pads. On investigation I found that the bracket to which the caliper hydraulic hose was fixed (at the lower end of the suspension strut) had been bent downward and was catching the CV boot clip. I bent it back up and the noise went. It is possible (if the brake caliper is not supported during pad change) to bend the bracket supporting the hydraulic hose. It could also interfere with the ABS wheel sensor bracket - check. Simply jack-up and support the car on the side with the noise and turn the wheel by hand to see what gives (don't go under the car until it is supported safely)..
I could murder a ******** mate.
Sorry but just had the same problem with wifes car only difference is its a 1.4 and we replaced all discs and pads we had all lot of knocking from abs pump front driver wing area they said they pump maybe faulty or the electronic management system each will cost approx £1000.00 after diagnostics and fault cleared it never happened again hope this is useful

hi had rhis on a few 307's what you need to try first is remove the o/s/r wheel, brake caliper and brake disc, and hub, remove the wheel speed sensor by undoing the 5mm allen key bolt and clean where the sensor sits then rebuild and give it a run all being well it should clear the fault. if that doesnt work it will probably need the sensor replacing
if this helps please let me know
cheers
