Crossing the battery leads to one major fault and that is the destruction of the CPU in the ECM unit. The fusible links are either cloth covered wire next to the battery or ceramic type fuse holders in a block next to the battery.

SOURCE: fusible link 1999 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE

Jeep got rid of Fusible links by 1999. All the fuses that in the past would be Fusible Links are now in the Power Distribution Center in the engine, as Maxi-Fuses. However you could have an after market modification that would include a Fusible Link. That said, make sure you have a good charge on the battery before starting, it doesn't seem like a big deal....but it could make a difference.

SOURCE: NO TURN SIGNAL

If everything else is working properly, I think you are on the right track with the fuse. On MOST cars the fuse box is under the dashboard but check your owners manual for the location. A diagram is usually on the inside of the cover or the sockets are marked.

The ECU would be another place to look. This is really sad and I can see you could spend a lot of money chasing a solution. My suggestion is, spend the money once, go to an Auto Electrician and get them to provide the answer which should be pretty quick.

First make sure your battery is fully charged and in good condition. Have you ever replaced the battery?
'If the battery is Ok then it likely is a Starter motor or solenoid, reasonably inexpensive fix for an experienced mechanic. When it happened to me I had an auto-electric shop install a rebuilt starter.

My 94 lebarons windows, turn signals, and blower in the car won't work and the airbag light is on, all the fuses seem fine, i'm not sure what is causing it

sounds like you have a blown fusible link ,near battery/relay center.did this happen all at once?was the car jump started before this happened ,possibly crossed jumper cables which can burn out heavy fusible links(which feed your fuse box ++

For starter, check all wiring tied into positive battery cable, alternator, starter.Get meter and check to see if power is going to both, fusible links may have been toasted.Check fuses in fuse box on driver side.

My 1990 mercury grand marquis was boosted wrong

Might need to check the main circuits for a blown fuse or fuseable link.
There is a fuse wire between the alternator and battery.

I put my jumper cables on backwards and when i turned my truck off it now has no power

what vehicle has no power? the truck that was being jumped or the vehicle that was doin the jump? I would check all relays and fuses that have to do with ignition and PCM,DLC. ( ALSO TRY A DIFFERENT BATTERY ) The cross jump could have welded the internals of the battery causing the battery to have a crossed polarity and is ruined, leaving the battery with no charge forever.

Check all the fuses pull them out ,look at them one by one, also there are some fusible links that will pull apart like taffy if they are burned, they look like wires, they will be at the end of the positive battery cable, where ever it goes,to the starter or relay.

Battery went dead and after jumping the radio doesn't work

chrysler has a separate large fuse in the fuse box under the hood in the fuse box, there should be 5 or more large fuses (yellow, green or blue in color) If you look under the fuse box cover you will see which fuse is for the alternator. Sometimes these fuses will burn out while jumping a car (possible incorrect battery contact with jumpers, fuse protects vehicle electrical system) also a shorted battery will not produce power for vehicle , auto parts store will check battery for free,
