SOURCE: 1998 Chevy Blazer making clicking noise in front

Slim possibility it could be a bearing too. When it's not under load and is free-wheeling (2wd) the stress on the hub assembly changes, making the clicking more noticeable. When under a load, being driven, the pressure on the bearing would be more steady (in 4wd) and might make it less noticeable, if at all.

Have a mechanic check lower control arm bushing at the rear of the control arm.It is a horizontal bushing retained by a vertical bolt clamping it to frame. The tire will move more forward and back more than it should during braking. canuck mechanic.

SOURCE: My car makes a bad growling noise. Everyone said

WHEEL BEARING USUALLY STARTS MAKING A ROARING TYPE NOISE WHICH USUALLY GETS LOUDER THE FASTER YOU DRIVE, SOMETIMES THEY WILL BE LOOSE , TO CHECK JACK UP THAT WHEEL AND GRAB TOP AND BOTTOM OF TIRE AND SHAKE, IF THERE IS MOVEMENT, TRY TO GET SOMEONE TO ROCK TIRE FOR YPU AND WATCH WHERE AXLE GOES INTO CENTER OF BEARING AND SEE IF AXLE IS MOVING WITH TIRE MOVEMENT AND SPINDLE REMAINS STATIONARY, THEN IT IS BAD BEARING, OR SOMETIMES THERE WILL BE NO MOVEMENT, THEN BLOCK REAR WHEELS AND RUN CAR WITH THAT WHEEL IN AIR AND SEE IF YOU HEAR NOISE, GOOD LUCK.

I have a 2008 Pontiac g6. when i drive i get a squeaky noise coming from the front passenger side. sometimes its super loud and sometimes its quiet or none existent. When the noise is there it tends to go...

My first thought is v-belt or serpentine belt loose or bad, may have a problem with the belt tensioner.
If not the belts I would make sure none of the pulley bearing are going out. belt tensioner bearing also. If you remove the belts you can try moving the pulley up/down, side to side see if shaft moves may be bearing. Try spinning the pulley see if it makes the squeaking noise.
If it were a brake pad I would think the car would want to pull some to the right..
wheel bearing cv joint but my experience is wheel bearing, ball joints seem to make more of a rumble than a squeak.

Where is the tension release on a 2002 chevy silverado for the alternator belt

It's on the upper passenger side on the front of the engine, the pulley has a 5/8 bolt with a wrench on the top pull towards the passenger side to release the tension. To install route belt around pulleys release tension and install belt on alternator last then release tension making sure belt is on all around pulleys.

Replaced the alternator on a 2001 Chevy Metro LSI and now I cannot seem to achieve proper belt tension, the belt squeaks very loudly, I applied belt dressing and tried several settings of tight and loose...

Belt dressing isn't advised for vechiles with serpatine belts. they are ment for the old V style belts. Use brake cleaner, carb cleaner to clean off the belt. Then recheck to see if everything is routed the correct way. Check the pulley on the new altenator. Is it the same size as the old one? If not, repalce with old pulley. These three items are the usual cause of poor tension. The tensionor could be going bad too but that isn't a very likely occurance.
