Just bought used 2002 tracker with no owners manual how do i set the radio and what is the small toggle type switch located near the shift lever if you switch it a light that says power lights up in instrument cluster.
Theres up and down arrows on the bottom right hand corner of the radio when held in for a few seconds it starts to change the time..
Radio (We have 2001) Look with a flashlight or in daylight closely at the radio face. There is a H and an M I believe stamped in the plastic. I think that you press these in one at a time (radio off) and adjust numbers with knobs (I think).
POWER Switch - better w. this one - it gives you more quick speed/power for highway driving speeds - not towing, etc. NOTE: Watch out for the little switch on the SHIFTER that lights up "OD OFF" on the dash. Only light that up for slow uphill driving. It turns the transmission OverDrive on and off. Do not try to drive normally with the overdrive off.
UPDATE! 2001 Tracker Radio Time Setting: I had to set the time today. With key in Accessory position or the engine running, turn Radio Power OFF. At bottom right of face you will see a rocker type switch with markings in the plastic above it of H(our) and M(in). Okay - press and hold one side or the other of this switch for a few seconds. Keep holding as it beeps and then when you tap that same side the hour or minutes will change. Move to the other side and repeat. I don't think that there is a AM/PM dot/indicator or anything.

SOURCE: where is the 16-pin data link connector on 2002 chev tracker?
IT IS LOCATED DIRECTLY UNDER THE STEERING COLUMN.
SOURCE: instrument cluster inoperative, transmission shifting problems
These vans have had issues with the PIN connections to the instrument clusters. With time the solder on the main PIN connection will begin to fail. The good news this may be repaired at home. First you'll need to remove the instruments. To do so remove the dash components from around the instruments then the (4) screws) that hold the instruments in place. Carefully detach the wire connection from the back of it; take to a well lit area. Look for a PIN with a failed solder joint (this will appear as a slight black or grey circle. If found apply heat and let solder begin to flow; the allow to cool and reassemble. If you look at my history you'll see I've helped others with this issue. The attached link may help: http://dodgeforum.com/forum/dodge-caravan/197192-99-grand-caravan-intermittent-dead-dashboard.html
As for the transmission I expect this a seperate issue, possibly the BCM but I'd like to review further.
Please let me know if this assisted you,
Tom
SOURCE: 95 Geo Tracker - Automatic. Starts ok, but when
It needs a fluid change, and filter,in the transmission, also, add a additive called LUBEGUARD from napa auto parts, when you ask for the additive,be sure to get the one for gm,this additive keeps the valve body slick, and moving, this is the problem, your filter, and ,or,the fluid is dirty, and causing hydraulic problems, and valves to stick in the valve body in the transmission.
