The plastic ring to pop the hood on a ford taurus broke .

You might have to take out the grill to get at the latch, or cut back the plastic part of the cable and use a pair of vise grips to pull the wire to open the hood.

if it broke at handle at dash use pliers and find any exposed cable use pliers if it broke under hood then i reccomend taking it to a shop if you can get latch throught the grill try to pry cable loose ans pull it

You don't have to take the grille apart, besides, you can't take it apart without the hood open, so what he wants to do is smash it open. If you get another vehicle just like yours to look at under the hood, you can see exactly what to grab with a small hook or wire, you can pop the hood this way, some fords have a pinhole for popping the hood, might take you an hour to do it, but it can be done. While you are pulling out on cable have someone hit hood with each fist on front of hood near grill left & right of center at same time.

get a pair of good Vise Grip locking pliers, cut back the outer sheath off the cable inside car to expose the inner wire core of the hood release cable, clamp the vise grip locking pliers as hard as poss on the inner wire core, then have someone push down on the hood over the latch area center front of hood, pull the wire core and the hood should release.

You will need a harden steel rod with a hook at one end to open it. The hooked end will be used to catch the hood lock lever to pull open

try a salvage yard but compare prices for a new one

strip down the plastic coating and grab some pliers or vice grips and pull it then replace your line and handle

do you mean undone from the cable? if so, see if you can reach the attachment point for the cable and pull in direction of the cable to release

You will need 2 people to get the hood open. While you pull on the hood release cable have an assistant gently pound on the center of the hood until it pops up. If this does not work, inspect the hood release lever to see if the pivot broken, if so pull directly on the cable with a pair of locking pliers. After you get the hood open make sure to spray the latch with penetrating oil (WD40)
