2000 300m: first, headlight went out on driver's side; then taillight on same side; then voltage light came on. bought new battery 1 month ago, now car only starts with a jump and will not start one it is cut off. cd player light flash continuously when car is on, and after car starts after jump the heat comes on automatically. . . HELP!!!!

Taillight relay. It is linked to the headlight system.

Sounds like you need to have your alternator checked.

How did jump starting the vehicle burn headlamp wire ? Check the left low beam fuse # 7 10 amp - located in the underhood fuse / relay box. Does the high beam work on the right side ? The light that is dimly lit has a ground issue or not enough voltage ,testing that circuit using voltage drop testing would be the way to find the problem . The black wire with yellow tracer is voltage for tail lamps. With the headlamp switch on, any voltage on that wire? Use a test light to check. Also check fuse 14--15amp.

Sounds like a relay is bad. The best place to have any electrical problems checked is at the dealer. call and set up an appointment and they should fix it.

The headlights run through a relay (#46) through the BCM. If the relay were bad (very common and has a recall) both lights would not work. Sooo, I'm thinking check the wiring and pigtail that goes to the bulb. People that use Silverstar halogeon bulbs will burn that wire and or the connector. Make sure these are sound, check for power at the connector too.

I would start with my terminals first and check your ground straps that go from the motor to the firewal etc. dodges are bad about ground wires messing up and that causes all kinds of wierd things to happen with these rigs. if the battery they put in wasn't charged all the way it will take a while for the gauge to raise to normal.

You have a bad ground conection.Remove the plug from the lamp unit.Check and clean with WD 40.Make sure that the bulb holders have not rusted away.If so replace.

What is going on is the Day time running light are causing the bulbs to run when ever the car is on. Day or night. I disabled mine and have not lost a head light in 2 years.

Here's an article on disabling the DTR. The relay you are looking to pull in on the firewall be the break pedal.
