Have a 1995 Ford Escort with 170000 miles on it. About a week ago, I noticed that the blinkers were not working. I heard the clicking sound, but there was no light on the dash or outside to the bulbs. When I checked the hazards, the blinking sound increased. I checked the fuses under the dash and they are fine. I also checked the lights and they seem fine too. I went under the dash and checked for any loose or disconnected wires. I found one was unplugged, but it was for my heat. I checked some other wires and then went up and tried the blinkers. Now there is no blinking noise or lights. When the clicking was still going on I would have guessed it was a flasher, but now I'm thinking more along the lines of a muti fuction swith. Any help would be great.

Your blend door actuator is no good. i had the same exact problem and just finished replacing it today. the part costs about 60 bucks from ford. auto part stores had it cheaper but not in stock. have to remove the radio by taking a wire hanger and making a "U" shaped tool. Insert the ends of the "U" into the 4 holes on either side of the radio and push the bottom of the "U" toward the outsides, the radio should come out easy. remove the dash panel containing the a.c. / heater controls by removing the 2 screws on top (where the radio was) and the 2 screws by the pull/out cup holder-ashtray. pull gently its held in place by 2 clips.you will see the blend door actuator attached to the firewall.mine was white a little bigger than a pack of cigarettes. its held in place with 3 screws also one cable connector. kind of awkward to get to , you need an 7mm and 8mm sockets with extensions..

Just found the answer on another site. Sure enough went out removed the 3 philips head screws in the steering column opened it up and walla a wire connection had pulled itself free. When my son uses my truck he always uses the tilt steering, when I get in I have to readjust it. because of this the wire connection pulled itself out. I simply pushed it back in an blinker and brake light are now working. My husband is now trying to figure a way to secure the wire connection so it doesn't pull itself out again. Hope this helps others, either by saving the cost of a dealership or machanic or from getting rear ended.

Have you checked the contacts to make sure they have good contact with the bulb base? I have a 1995 Ford Contour. The turn signal went out. I replaced the bulb and it would work when it wanted to. I checked the contacts and sure enough they weren't making good contact with the bulb. I took a screwdiver and slightly bent the contacts a little. It has worked good ever since.

SOURCE: Turn Signal Flasher location in 93 Mustang GT

The flasher is a small round plastic cylinder (unless replaced with a metal one) behind the left edge of the glove box that will look similar to the one in the fuse panel. The first step is to squeeze gently both sides of the open glove box and let it swing downward. It will be snapped into a metal horizontal brace just to the left of the glovebox opening by a small tab and have two wires attached. The number more than likely will be a #552 although I have seen a factory one with a Warner #224

I have a 2000 honda accord with 170000 miles on with rev problems

The transmission filter should be changed at least every 30,000 miles if that hasn't been the case. Replacing the filter may fix the problem, otherwise it will need to be repaired.

Ford escort 95 wagon the horn does not work but was just replaced 6 months ago with new one. it just clicks at the steering wheel

Check the horn relay
  • Horn relay located above the interior fuse junction panel. Hope this helps. Also check the ground wire to horn, if in doubt run a wire from horn base to some other ground.

Engine seems to be burning oil. escort van 1.8 d year Y 2001 used 2.5 litres of oil within 3,000 miles no leaks showing and co is correct as just passed mot less than a week ago.

You should have the compression checked to see if the cylinders are in good shape. When a deisel starts to use oil, it burns it as it would fuel. The mot test is o/k because your emission system is working well. Hope this helps.Moe
