I have a tough problem for you: We have a 2008 Prius, standard, not touring. About 4 weeks ago, malfunction indicator and a few other lights came on in the car. We took it to a dealer, who confirmed the lights. The next day, when the tech got to the car, the lights were off and the car had not stored any code. So, they told us to drive it. Fast forward about two weeks. The hybrid battery appears to completely drain, the malfunction light and other warning lights come on, and the car dies completely. We tow it to a mechanic (not the dealer), who pulls two codes for the ABS system. When cleared, the car ran and the codes did not reoccur. 12v battery was dead, so it was replaced. Fast forward one more week: same thing happens. Hybrid graphic indicates the battery completely drains, then all the warning lights go off. Took it back to the same garage. This time they pulled two different codes, this time for throttle control. New battery was fine. Visual inspection of the throttle body did not show any issues. Cleared the codes, and they did not recur. Now what? Computer malfunction?
