A low-pitched loud whistle sound is sometimes heard coming from the front of the car when speeds reach 65 or 70 mph. It is intermittent and no braking, quick acceleration, turning of steering wheel changes the sound. Can't reproduce the sound in the garage with just the rpms of the engine. All windows are up and tight.

A few things could be wrong....it could be your brake control module, anti-lock brake system or a wheel speed sensor. The best thing to do is to get it into a garage and have them take a look at it and give you an idea of what is wrong. Either way, if you do not have the proper tools, you are better off taking it to the shop.

I hope this helps.

This is not a do it yourself project. It sounds like part of the front suspension has broken loose. It is possible that it is a wheel bearing or a drive shaft. Anytime you dissamble the steering wheels, you stand a good chance of losing control after you put it back together. This is one where a trusted mechanic needs to get involved.

Low pitch whirring sound coming from front end when above 30 mph

It could be that you have a front wheel bearing that is getting noisy. Have someone ride in the RF seat and listen to the noise to try to figure out which front wheel the noise is coming from.
Also , check the tread pattern of the front tires to see if it has some unusual choppy pattern forming.

Whistle noise

A whistling noise can be generated by an alternator at high RPM's and indicates a slip ring brush problem or a diode failing . It resembles a frequency whistle.. IT may also be from a leaking gasket and a partially blocked exhaust system from a failed cat converter and at speed and power, the exhaust gas is forced out the hole

one of the cabin seals has come lose or part of the plastic under the windscreen has a gap, can happen with plastic. just need to reseal the gap or refit it and seal at the same time. its body panel sealer can get it in a tube for a sealer gun or you can get the brush on type from most car part stores.

1998 Honda EX Accord - has had a loud humming in the front - sounds like the tires but tires are new. Sound gets louder when I speed up and when I slow down. Could it be the wheel bearings need to be...

The symptoms match those of wheel bearings getting worn out. One sure way to determine it is not coming from the transmission is by taking the vehicle to a decent speed, say 35 MPH ,and put it in neutral. If the humming continues unchanged, then it comes from bearings, and if it drops, then it might come from transmission or engine. 135000 miles is way over the life expectancy of a set of bearings.
If the bearings are starting to fail, they produce a high pitch sound, almost a whistle, and if they are almost gone, they produce a deep rumble. High speed turns might subdue the sound, or make it worse, depending on if you take weight of bearings, or increase it.

I had the windshield replaced and thought it would solve my problem, but no. I should have had it fixed when warranty was in effect but I don't drive that fast much. I also need hlep.

2008 toyota tacoma whistling noise

I don't know how loud the noise is, but its weird that you mention 50 mph. At that speed or above you are keep a constant rpm level. I say this because it might just be your air box loose and the sound of the intake air is making it. A 2008 truck should not have any major problem. Sometimes an alternator will sing or whine but never heard anyone say something is whistling. One other thing is sometimes for some reason ive heard a noise like that coming from the speakers of my car that goes up and down with the speed of the motor, but that was when I was tinkering with speakers and sub outs and amps. Thats all I can think of.

Loud whistling noise when travelling at higher speeds (ie above 50mph)

I had a problem with a whistling car after 50 mph and it turned out to be the front window gasket. I put silicone on the trim and problem solved.
