Drivers side window on a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee falls off track

When the driver side window is all the way down, the window will come off the track if I shut the door, hit a bump, etc. Any type of forceful movement will bring it off the track only when the window is totally down.

Have to remove the inner door panel,
to see the problem
Most likely a broken window regulator

SOURCE: The drivers side door won't close.

open the door , look at the latch on the door , as it get older and non lubricated , the latch can stick in the locked position , i,m going to draw a picture .

when the door is open it should look like the picture , i suggest your door is in the closed position and why it bounces off as you say , take a , lets say a screw driver stick it in where the little lever thats sticking up , push the door open button on the outside door handle , pry that lever forward , if successful try it , and lubricate it , hope my barbaric picture gets the point across .

I agree, these vehicles have a problem with the blend doors and since the accuators hit the door when it opens and closes, it breaks the doors. and it's a huge job to replace them.

I have the same problem. Do not know cause but I remove large red 50 fuse in engine compartment fuse box, wait 15 sec and replace. Lock car and unlock. This seams to reset something and car is fine. This problems seams to appear when my battery is low.(?)

SOURCE: windows will not work from

First thing to check is the fuses. Look underneath the drivers side steering wheel (to the left) for a covered fuse box. Remove the cover and find the fuse that controls the locks and windows and mirrors (two-three separate fuses) Pull them out "one by one" and see if they are burned out. If they are, replace them with the correct number fuse.If it is not the fuse, the door lock actuator has failed (for the door locks) or the master switch that controls the locks is bad. Go to your local junk yard and find a replacement for cheap

Try to find one at a salvage yard. Is the rubber track piece supposed to be held on by glue? You might try a good adhesive to make the old track piece stay on.

My drivers side power window for my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee is off track and the rubber window housing is behind the window itself. How can I get it back on track?

If you are not well versed in taking doors and panels apart, go to an auto glass shop and they can fix it for you in less than an hour much more cheaply than a dealer. They will have the tools and fasteners in stock.

Drivers side rear window falls down, but you can hear the motor running.

have an Auto Glass installer take a look the glass base is probably not attached needs glue or a screw do not attempt your self the glass alone is costly if you break it it will hurt more

Have you tried spraying silicone on both side tracks? Otherwise, the window motor may just be going away.
