My BMW 325CI will not start. The engine doesn't even turn overl

All the lights on the dashboard and interior lights are working fine. It is not the battery since I have tried to jumpstart it and charge it as well. When I turn the key, all the lights on the dashboard comes on. It was working fine when I went to fill up gas. Came back and parked it overnight and in the morning, it won't start at all. I have also doubled checked the gas cap to make sure it is on correctly.

Thats not the problem. Telling the engine when to produce a spark has nothing to do with sending electricity to the starter. I have the same problem with my spare key. Lights come on, can unlock the doors, everything. But when it comes to starting the car its like you haven't even turned the key. Luckily my other key starts the car fine so my spare key is now just a backup door unlocker. There is a problem with the key and the communication between that and the cars computer that will not allow the car to start. I haven't found a solution to this even from the dealer, except buy a new key for $300 of course.

Did you find out what the problem was? I had the same problem. I purchased a spare trunk key to get out my key and 32 days later the key wouldn't always start the engine. Than I got my other key out of storage and the car would always work fine but would try the older key and it would never work. After 31 days that key also wouldn't work and a couple of days prior when I would turn on the car the headlights would take 1-2 seconds to turn on. I went to BMW they told me it's the starter they wouldn't take my word it was my keys and it was after using that plastic trunk key I brought. I don't understand how a starter would read one key and not the other key and now that i took it to BMW they are stating it's my starter. Could someone help me. They want $800 I had another estimate done over the phone through another mechanic stating it would cost $410 to take it out rebuild it and place it back.

Yup the keys will do it, that's why there's a main key the other one is secondary and spare

Crankshaft sensor is broken. I had exactly the same problem and after replacing that, the car now works. This sensor tells the engine when to produce the spark.

Before you do anything expensive, check your fuses. they are in the glove box.

My BMW 2001 shut off while I'm driving it, but sometime will start back up but not all the time

I would check the wiring that goes to the ignition coil. That coil may be bad and would die when it got hot and restart when cold. Check for voltage at the wire connecting that coil. Other bad wiring could be at the ignition switch, so wiggle wires under the dashboard that go to the key/ignition parts.

Battery charge good; engine turns over; no start up

Crankshaft sensor needs to be replaced. I had the exact same problem on my BMW 2 weeks ago. Exactly the same. It works fine now after replacing the sensor. It's the sensor which tells the engine when to produce the spark.
