Need to find out how to add oil or check the oil in the rear end of a 2000 GMC gimmy

Hello, there is a fill pluf on the passenger side of rear end to check the fluid level and to add fluid. here is some help on this.

  • Remove the rear axle fill plug.
  • Inspect the lubricant level. Specification
The lubricant level should be between 0-10 mm (0-0.4 in) below the fill plug opening.
  • If the level is low, add lubricant until the level is even with the bottom edge of the fill plug opening

My rearend( I think ) is making a roaring noise and fills like it isn't getting power at times when I use the accelerater

Have the rear-end check out (3rd member) center part of rear-end housing, and your rear axle bearing's, axle bearing if bad can also damage rear axle shaft's and will also have to be replaced.

This amount of play would not be excessive. I don't think you can remove sll the play in a GM rearend. Do you have a posi-track rearend? That could be acting up and creating your problem.

    Suspension issue jeep

only on right turns?? a smaller tire would have resulted in damage if the rear is a locking type rearend. IF it is a locking rear end I would change the oil, noting the color and how it looks. replace it and add some "slip additive"............. IF its not a locking type axle, maybe a spider gear problem, but thats inside the housing, not out by the wheel. You may need to take the axle out and inspect the axle/ bearing.
