I just bought a used Grand Prix 2008. When I put my seatbelt on and I am the only one in the car, the chime still goes off and blinks at me even after the first initial start up for about the first 5 min of driving. I fastened all the seatbelts in the back, haven't tried fastening the front passenger seatbelt yet, but shouldn't have to I don't think. Any thoughts on how to get that to turn off. It eventually does after about 10 min of driving, but seems as though it should the minute I put on my belt. Thank you.

I only know of 2 possibbilities. You should find a find a wire connector under the drivers seat that will disable the alarm if unplugged. It will just have 2 wires. The other is to replace the radio with a non-standard one that has no module in it that rings the chime. You can raise the noise level by holding in the 6 button on the radio preset while turning the key on (without starting), ut I don't think you can turn it down...might be worth a try. Please do wear your seatbelt.
Hope this helps.
