Stalls randomly when pushing on gas from idle(foot on the brake), like after waiting at a stop sign to turn on to a road. This happened while making a long drive many months ago. Towed to a mechanic and they couldn't "recreate the problem". After leaving for a couple days, no success in finding problem, drove fine. Added dry gas just in case of bad gas. This happened again today, after a long day of driving. Stalled after idling for 1 min then accelerating to turn. Car just stopped dead. Restarted car (about a mile from my house) Please help, depending on my car and don't want to waste more time/money at mechanic without having a good sense of the problem.
Your best investment is a Haynes Repair Manual, either from your local Auto Zone or similiar retailer or online: http://www.haynes.com/products/searchType/vehicleApplicationSearch2/searchEnd/yes/sfID1//sfID2//sfID3//year/1997/make/Honda/model/Accord/x/20/y/3/productID/193. Step by step instructions on troubleshooting, repair or replacement, based on a complete teardown and rebuild.

Change fuel filter to start with. It sounds like it could be partly clogged. If no change, change plugs and wires. I'm not sure what you mean by the "rumble strip" thing, unless it's shaking as a result of one cylinder not firing, and causing a shaking feeling. A dead plug or wire would also cause loss of power and stalling. Let me know what you find.
